Using our DVD player
Hi! We recently moved into our 2014 Forester 2251LE and we are trying to get settled and figure out all out devices. We tried playing the Magnadyne DVD player that is on the front console to watch on our Jensen HDTV which is hooked up on the loft but the DVD player will only play on the console. How do we get the signal to connect to our TV?

I have the 2015 2251LE with the Jensen radio with the GPS and remote control and I haven't figured this darn thing out either. I'm just going to open up Sirius radio and leave it on that all the time and use my Garmin.

If remember correctly, we have to change the input on the TV itself, to AV1 or AV2. I can't remember exactly. It's been a few months.

Radio stays the same...when a DVD is in, it will output, do not change to AV1 on the dash unit.
The TV source needs changed, needs to be either AV1 or AV2. check the back of the TV and make sure the cables are all pushed in all the way.
Sometimes a dealer will pull the TV's when on the lot. They may install the TV for sale, but forget to (or incorrectly) wire up the TV again.

Using Magnadyne DVD
Go to the Magnadyne website and download latest manual. I've emailed them they always get back to me in a day or two. I have a 2013 Sunseeker (sister to the Forester) mine has a video distribution panel. The panel button for DVD must be pressed in for that TV there are 3 TV's in my rig so each TV has it's own series of buttons. Depending on how you TV is hooked up you may need to be on AV1, AV2, or in some cases channel 3. My video distribution panel is a Winegard brand and you can download a manual from them good luck.

We had to take our Avenger back 2 times. because we could get the tv to do anything. the 1st time they had to replace the antennae because it wouldn't unfold all the way, the 2nd time to connect the antennae into the entertainment center and the tv and DVD player together. it wasn't attached together when we bought it.
not sure if was dealer error or Factory install gone wrong

It looks like we will have someone take a look at it. Thank you for the help. Greatly appreciated! I will also look into the Magnadyne manual but I suspect that something was never hooked up.

Won't matter. the emergency brake only locks out the dash screen...not the rear output.
I'm guessing
A. something is not hooked up or
B. This unit has a switch box and it was not wired directly. I have a thread on this as well. If you look at the back of the TV you should see a Red/White?yellow cable INOT the AV1 hook up. (there is also an audio out, but thats another topic). If those are not there, then you may have a switch box. Those cables will go into the switch box and then to the TV via coax. In that case you have to change to "scan for channels" via "cable". A direct connection to AV1 is always better for image quality etc.

We do have the red, white and yellow cables hooked to the back of TV. They appear to lead into the cabinet above the entrance door.
