Water Filter replacement CC10

I changed my in-house water filter the other day after about 18 months of use. I took the old filter apart and it looks just like the one in the photo, a carbon block. A 4 pack for $28 seems quite reasonable. Dealer wants $45 for one. We only use bottle water to drink and cook. Water from house tank or shoreline is used for showers washing hands and toilet.
I don't want to get into the pros and cons of the filter and or removing it totally.
So, my question is, has anyone used these from Amazon and do they fit?

Are you sure the dealer's not trying to sell you the wrong filter? The ones for KW1 I've heard can be that high, but I would get the ones for my CC10 from the dealer for like 10.95 Cdn. Your Amazon deal is still cheaper than that, just trying to point out the dealer's either confused, or way off base.

If yours looks the same,yes it will fit. If you don't want 4, any standard 10 inch filter (that looks the same) from Home Depot/Lowes/Walmart will fit. Typically sold 2 for less than $10 (carbon type)

The price was $39.95 plus 10% sales tax. Here's the exact replacement, fits perfect. Looks just like the ones from Amazon with carbon block center. Read reviews and someone said it was 1" short. Wonder if they tried to install it in the KW-1. Measuring the old filter, it's exactly 10".

My local dealer here wants CDN$30+ for the WaterPur CCI-10-Ca replacement filter. I buy the Pentek CFB-PB10 which is a high end 0.5 micron filter for at least $10 less depending on where you buy it.

I get that people use bottled water for drinking and cooking but do you use it for other activities where the water will get to your mouth - things like brushing your teeth and showering?

I use the Amazon filters 4/pack and we use bottled water for coffee and cooking and we use the filtered water for showering and tooth brushing.I change the filter every 2-3 months

You got me thinking so I had to look it up. It's a Flow-Pur 8 that he sells me that fits the CC1-10. I get it from Renaud RV down in Harrow when they have their spring open house weekend so I get their "we pay the tax" sale prices. Works for me because it's usually 1 or 2 weekends before I open the trailer.

Though, with the Surveyor, I lost my onboard filter so I've had to resort to the external blue Camco one. I'm not impressed. So far I've been to two parks that I've been at before with the Flagstaff, and the water quality doesn't seem as good out out the Camco as I'm used to with the CCI-10 and that Flow-Pur filter.

We keep our mouths closed in the shower and use bottled water for brushing our teeth. The fresh water tank never drains all the way. Found 3 gallons are left and the only way to get most of it out is to lower the rear and raise the front. But there is still some water left. I over sanitize the tank 3 or 4 times a year and flush the lines and add a few ounces of bleach when filling for a trip.So the fresh water tank is probably palatable, but we're not taking any chances. That 3 gallons at the bottom of the tank sometimes sits for a few months. That's when I do the over sanitize including the water heater and all lines. Had a friend let his sit for 3 or 4 months and had a science experiment going on during their next trip out.

All the more reason to use a good quality filter. We pay big bucks for our RVs so $30 for a filter isn’t much.

Canadian RVer's ....I recently went to CTC and they had their best filter unit on sale ($30.00) and 2 filters for $8.00.....Had to widen the holes on each side and I replaced the "stiff" plastic lines with clear flex braided plastic hose........Original filters for our CC are way over priced/highway robbery!!!!!!!!!!I am sure similar filters are available at Walmart/Lowes/HD in the USA

Jim, just be aware that not all filters are alike. Cheaper filters are generally cheaper because they are not as good. Cheaper materials and larger micron sizes. Better quality materials and better filtering while also providing higher flow rates, costs more.

There is a snip from the waterpur.com website, "Beware Imitations"that explains the difference. I ordered a couple from them. I am currently using the cheap ones from Amazon, and the water tastes terrible.

I read that popup and it doesn't say what the micron rating is. Is it on the packaging? They do say 2.5 gpm which is decent.

I use the Pentek CFB-PB10 filter but it's hard to tell from their literature what the flow rate is. My experience is that its fine using the water pump. Some campgrounds I've stayed at have lower pressure than my water pump provides so for those campgrounds I fill the FW tank rather than hook to the spigot.

I talked to the company and the micron rating is 5. I don't know the flow rate, but I use them at my home and in my RV. No problems.

I believe these filters are 0.5 micron. Much better then the 5.0 or 10.0 micron filters. Research the filters to see what the specs are and what they eliminate or reduce from the water. I agree the filters are pricey ($30.00) but my health and safety are important. I make coffee, cook, and drink bottled water.

I’m going to have to cast the vail of doubt on the capability and quality of the waterpur unit and filters. I buy an awful lot of filters for my home where I must filter, soften and sanitize swamp water to make it potable. All of the filter manufacturers have readily available spec sheets for their products. Waterpur does not. I went to their website and read all of their claims and followed the link:

I found that NONE of their claims were certified, no specs were available and the certification was solely for the safety of the materials used to manufacture the filter. In other words, their entire blurb is pure hype. They do state that on the label as well.
They do have a filter that they say will filter out particulate down to .5 microns however, the CC-10-CA is not it.
They also say to keep it from freezing (duh) but the filter operating range only goes down to 40*F, well above freezing.
The flow rate is another unknown. The label eludes to a 2.5gpm number (not very good) however they are actually talking about chlorine reduction for 10,000 gallons and again, uncertified.
If you do a forum search you will find an awful lot of negatives regarding waterpur housings and customer service dating back to 2014.
I’m not going to make any suggestion here but this is what I am doing.
I installed the original filter yesterday after a full system double sanitization.
I will use it for 30 days to make a determination unless poor performance dictates otherwise. I have purchased a two-pack of high quality brand name replacements with a 5 micron filtration rating. I used food-grade silicone on the o-ring to keep it from binding. I will keep an eye on the housing for cracks. Any hint of cracking and its a gone. I have no intention of using waterpur filters unless they publish certified specs for their product and an actual physical address. I have concerns that the waterpur product is produced in another country that had little or no quality/safety oversight. Those concerns must be assuaged prior to continued use. YMMV

Follow-up:
I did some additional research and found that Waterpur appears to be operating out of a residence located at 3400 Harden Ct., Marianna, FL. Red flags are popping up like dandelions here. The phone number checks with the one listed on their website.
