I can't find anything in my owners manual on a bypass valve for my 2013 3051 Forester. Do we have one installed from the factory? If so, where is it located?
Usually they are pretty close proximity to the hot water tank...from inside the trailer..often you have to take a drawer out or a wooden panel held by a couple screws or something like that depending on your trailer and floor plan. Will likely be under your kitchen sink or in that general vicinity. You should see the valve somewhere in the line coming and going to and from your hot water tank. You may only have 1 valve, but more than likely you will have 2 or maybe even 3 valves...our Palomino trlr has 2.
This recently came up on the Sunseeker sub forum. I think the post is on page 2 (as of now). Short answer is it's behind the access panel under the fridge - for a 3050 anyhow. I would assume the 3051 is in the same location.
(Just as an FYI, you might want to check the Sunseeker sub forum from time to time. There's more activity on that side. The 3050 model over there is pretty much identical to yours.)
Paulmlac, that is exactly where it is located. My Fleetwood Tioga Arrow's bypass valve was located next to the jackknife seat and was easy to get to....
Frank, I have the 3051 also and like you found the bypass valves under the frig. Did you find all 3 valves? There are 3 of them and one is not easily visible.
I keep a small rechargeable screwdriver with the correct bit and can pop the panel and switch the valves pretty fast. I also marked the back of the panel which side went up so I would always be hitting the same drill holes. I don't know where else they could have put the valves with the water heater and tank set up where it is.
