Water leaking into basement areas
Hi, has anyone had this issue? The RV was parked on a flat , level surface. The basement doors were securely closed and locked yet I discovered a large pool of water in each one. We had rain but no wind. I wiped them out but two days later ( no new rain ) it reappeared. Help!!!

Have any water lines passing through those areas? Could have a leak still leaking with no rain as you said. Also might be condensation this time of year.

Our 2013 rig had something on the doors from the manufacturing process that caused the seals to stick to the frames. They tore slightly when I first opened them causing leaks. Replacing the seals fixed ours up.

It's outside/rain water. It's on both sides of basement. There's no plumbing back there.

I don't get it. It seems there's a lot of issues with the Forester. I waited two years to be able to afford to pay cash for mine. I walked thru them over a dozen times and looked online for any outstanding issues but not until I found this forum were my worst fears confirmed.

All motorhomes have little issues thanks to the fact that they are rolling houses built with an eye towards weight reduction and cost. You just can't get away from them regardless of brand. I would run my hand over the door gaskets and look for cracks or tears. I would also look to see where the seam is for hte gasket. I have seen some installed incorrectly with the seam not on the bottom. I would hope that this was not the case but you never know...

Check the door frame
I had a similar problem with a non-FR trailer. The problem was that the door frame did not seal to the outside trailer walls. Dealer caulked around the outer door frame and problem went away.

Check the weep hole in the bottom of the door.

I would check to make sure there are weep holes in the bottom of the doors. The doors on mine were installed with the weep holes at the top. I drill new ones in the bottom and the problem went away.

Years back we had a TT that when I power washed the wheels & wheel wells the water would get between the bottom of the Trailer & the bottom material,,, it took me a long time & a lot of work to finally find how the water was getting in to where it would pour out as soon as I took the Trailer out of level,,, when I would lower the front,,, water would start leaking from the front !!! I also found water was getting in around the back bumper,,, where it attached to the frame !!!

Sorry for the late reply but I just saw this and had a similar issue on my new 2016 Columbus. Every time it rained a had a pool of water in one storage area where my auto leveling and water control panels are. The opening is cabinet style doors with center twist locks on the top and bottom. After inspecting it closely I found the top twist lock had a loose screw. I tightened it, problem gone. Hope this is helpful.

We had the same problem in the same compartment after we bought ours.I would dry it out and find water there even without any rain. I opened the interior compartment where the house water filter was, felt around the water pump and it was wet at the bottom. There is a water filter mounted under there and I hand tightened it. That seemed to have stopped it.
