Thanks... I suspected the aerodynamic form factor didn't do much to the mpg, BUT it sure looks a lot better! The worst I've gotten is 8.7 in tow/haul mode and 40 mph crosswinds in the Permian basin of Texas. I usually get 9 - 10 towing a trailer with a side-by-side UTV on it (about 3500 lbs total) when I hold speed to 60 mph. I'm not sure I understand the brake / downshift thing. I just put it in tow / haul mode and leave it there. I have never needed to use my brakes, even in the mountains. The transmission handles all the braking and never exceeds 4200 rpm's.

I just returned from a 2000 mile trip to Maine and back towing a Camry on a dolly about 4000 lbs. Average for the trip 8.4 mpg. Speed between 60 to 70 mph. Best tank was 9.6 and worst was 7.7. Mostly rolling hills the majority of the trip. Came home a different way but still a lot of hilly driving. If I stay at 60 mph I can average about 9.4 mpg towing. I do have the 5 star tune installed with a k & n intake setup. I do not believe it helps with MPG but helps with driving in the hills and towing.
