Where is Atwood water heater reset switch?
Can someone tell me where the Atwood water heater reset switch is in a 2016 3171? We can't find it and have searched the forums to no avail. Thanks!

The water heater had been running fine since Thursday. We had it on propane at first and then electric. This morning, no hot water. Water is in the tank. (We're on hook ups.).

If your water heater still works with propane (check it), you can rule out the thermal protection fuse. Otherwise, I don't believe there is a specific reset button to push. Try checking in the fuse panel on your converter charger for the water heater 12v fuse on the lower section and doing a reset of the 110v water heater switch above.
Please give us an update, thanks.

Thanks for the manuals. It's an Atwood gc6aa-10e. There doesn't seem to be a reset switch. Whatever is wrong with it is going to require a technician. Bummer. Cold showers in December. BRRRRR.

It doesn't work on propane either, Sagecoachdriver. I had already reset the circuit breakers. We're checking fuses now. Thanks.

Have you checked the thermal
fuse, it's the wiring in the plastic tube?
Mine is the same as yours, but I added the adjustable thermostat.

There is also a 2amp fuse on the circuit board in the upper right of the W/H compartment under all the wiring. Probably to protect the board.

The fuse and the thermal regulator are fine. The mystery continues!

Next thing to try, unhook shoreline power and switch off your battery cut-off switch in doorway. Wait a few minutes and turn battery power back on and try propane. Make sure your propane is working by turning on stove top for a minute. If it doesn't reset, turn on shoreline and try it. That was the last thing I can think of. Sorry, it's off to the dealer or call Atwood tomorrow. Do you have a multimeter/volt meter?

When you try flipping the switches on the Convenience Center, do the lights come on for the propane, electric and fault light?

We left for a bit and, when we came back, DH turned on the water heater using the electric. It started to warm the water up, so he switched to propane and it lit up. Things were going great! Then, he switched it back to electric and we are out of hot water again. Any ideas on what is happening?

Did you shut off the shoreline and battery power to see if that re-sets it? If you get it working, I wouldn't switch modes. Stick with what's working until you get back home.

We did. It didn't come on. I'm laughing about the "don't switch" comment. I was outside messing with the entertainment center while all that switching was going on....

This is a reach, pull the T&P lever up to check if you really have hot water. I am thinking that maybe the water is hot and something else is cooling it down. I read somewhere that if the outside shower is turned off at the head only, it will allow cold water to mix with the hot thus lowering the water temp for the entire coach. Just thinking out loud. Have you any reason to be tinkering with the water heater bypass? I hate cold showers.

Keep in mind that the 12 volt controller circuit board and wiring are the one thing that is common to both 120 VOLT and LP Gas operation. When both modes are out, that's the first place to look. From your intermittent symptoms, a loose connection is number one suspect.

??? Maybe just leave it off for a few hours and then try propane. You can hear the roar of it heating but can't with the 110v.
Dumb question, but are you allowing the hot water to run long enough for it to reach your faucet?
