Wireless air 72000

Not happy. Installed system today. Guessing I have a bad manifold valve system. When you go to air up the system. Air comes out the bottom of the filter. If you put your finger over the drain it will air up the bags. After its aired up you can take your finger off and it seals up. You can let air out of system and that works fine. It was to late to call tech support so I guess I'll call at 8:00 Monday. 😁😁😁

Definitely call tech support. Mine installed and worked perfectly the 1st time. I don't know what I would do without it!

Where did you install the compressor and manifold? I'd also be interested to know how you guys powered the relay through the ignition. I watched the install video online but got confused.

In my 3051s there is an open space that runs from side to side near the rear compartment, in the water filter area. This is where I mounted my compressor. The ignition source was taken from the coach DC power box, located next to the coach batteries. I purchased a 30 Amp relay from Autozone and powered it from the ignition source. I then ran heavy gauge wire from the compressor to the house battery box, in wire loom, under the coach to the 30 amp relay. This powers the compressor with a true 30 Amp power source.

Fred, thank you for your reply and forgive my ignorance in asking a follow-up question or two...

You mention an ignition source from the DC battery box. I was considering a similar option but didn't figure that the ignition relay was closed during ignition because I thought it was used for ignition lockout circuits (ie, slides, etc). Instead, was thinking it was open during ignition power. I'd love to understand how you made it work to save me from running the relay wire to the chassis fuse box.

You also mention running a true 30 amp power source? Is this different than how the kit delivers power to the compressor? Doesn't the compressor connect directly to the battery and then is switched on/off with a relay?

I mounted mine in the compartment right in front of driver side rear tire. Ran the power wire with the fuse that came with it to the engine battery. I looked in fuse box and could not find anything I could hook to. The fuse adapters they send with kit does not work in ford fuse box.

There is an ignition power source that goes to the panel by the coach battery box. This is where I mounted my 30 Amp relay and used the ignition source to energize the relay when the vehicle is running. I suspect the reason there is an ignition power source in the panel so the lockout features are activated in the coach to prevent some items from working. Anyway, it's a great source nearby the coach batteries. The compressor needs a good 30 Amp power source with heavy gauge wire to prevent overheating while running for prolong periods of time. I bought the wireless remote so I could mount it on Velcro inside the coach in a place of my choosing.

J-12 is the lead with 12 VDC for ignition source.

Thanks Ourflat. Got wiring changed around and also installed the new filter the overnight end to me. Works great now.

Your welcome! My ham radio know-how and DC circuit design kicks in when I buy a kit like this. I immediately start improving the circuit design for optimum performance. I really thought the compressor would run a lot but it really doesn't. I had a fear the compressor would get hot and needed to be cooled down but not the case. I believe Forest River should add this feature as an upgrade for folks who don't DIY.

For my install I wanted the power to the WirelessAir to be on switched power. I also wanted the switch at the dash so I made a cover plate to go over the coin holder on the dash.
I then pulled all the wiring schematics for the upfitter van chassis since there are a number blunt end wires supplied by Ford. I pulled my HOT from the Ford Factory electric brake wire which is a 30 amp protected supply (The harness is unused harness sitting just above the radio. {You can buy a Reese or other brand aftermarket electric brake wire pigtail to connect from the OEM harness plug to an aftermarket electric brake controller. This allowed me to tap into the HOT and ground without cutting the OEM harness plug}).

From there, I ran the HOT to a 30 amp rated switch in the plate cut to fit in the coin holder then ran the switched line to the upfitter wire that goes through the firewall and ends with a blunt cut in the factory harness right by the master brake cylinder. At that point I was able to get it to my WirelessAir system that I mounted in a weather resistant utility box secured to the chassis a couple feet behind the generator.
This location worked best since I was running two WirelessAir manifolds to operate two air bags at the rear and two at the front.
The power switch gives me the added protection of killing power to the WirelessAir compressor when dropping the air pressure from the bags before lifting the coach with the Big Foot leveler.

It was a lot of work and planning but it works great. I really love the setup.

Where did you guys splice into the air bag hose? ...and did u leave the stock filler valve stems to use as backup if the air pump system goes fails for some reason.
Thanks
Jim
