Wiring problem in new 3051

Any other Forester owners with wiring problems? Have reservations for Sunday and now don't know if we will be able to go. We thought the neutral wire had come loose in the self contained outlet for the microwave. DH took the outlet apart to fix it. No such luck....The wire is bad. How difficult will it be for the rv service department to replace the romex wire? Anyone have a wiring diagram for the 3051? The guys had the circuit box a mess. They had wires switched so they didn't match what they had marked at the breaker. They stripped wires back too far and left the bare wire exposed. This is disappointing....

I am sorry that I am not communicating clearly....The wire that was bare is covered in electrical tape. That is not the problem. The blue Romex wire for the microwave / convection oven has a broken neutral in it (who knows where). It has to be replaced.

I don't have a wiring diagram for the 3051, but I do know that when I had no power to the the front half of the coach on the left side, the point where the power was being picked up from was the receptacle where the fridge plugs into. They should be able to fish a new wire from the junction point where it crosses over to the slide side . Good luck.

Sorry to hear you are having electrical issues.
Unfortunately for us buyers, FR doesn't give out wiring diagrams to customers as others do like Winnebago.
Since it's under warranty, it's best to have the dealer do any repairs. Doing 110v electrical repairs yourself can be dangerous.

This may help in isolating the problem, are any of the 110v receptacles working starting from your bathroom vanity wall receptacle and beyond the microwave to the 100v receptacles under the kitchen overhead cabinets? They may all be on the same circuit leading from your converter/charger electrical panel.
I wouldn't cancel a trip as you can always run a heavy gauge wire extension cord to the microwave for cooking.

Thanks for trying to help us....All of the other receptacles appear to be working. The microwave is on it's own breaker, so it is by itself. That is why we are saying that wire needs to be replaced.

Sounds like a big job to rewire.

Perhaps an extension cord wouldn't work if the amps for the circuit aren't designed for the load???

For the most part there are no wiring diagrams available for any RVs. But it should not be that hard for a compentant RV tech to fish in a new wire if that is what it needs.

Just curious. What tests did you do to determine the neutral(white) is broken? 12 gauge wire in romex does not usually break somewhere in the middle. Did you do a continuity test, with a good tester, on the neutral(white) and others(red and black)?

Yes, the continuity test is exactly what was done. It is not 12 gauge wire. It is on a 15 amp breaker. The wire is blue romex. There was a white wire, black wire, and bare wire which were tested.
