2019 Heiser family road trip.

So every year, my wife and myself take our 2 daughters who are 6 and 3 years old, out camping, and it is our goal to see every national park in the USA before we die.. and we are also trying to g we t lots of state parks under our belt. This years family trip consists of the following to be covered in 12 days.
Valley of fire state park
Four corners
Zion national park
Capitol reef national park
Grand staircase escalante national monument
Canyonlands national park
Great basin national park
Finishing up at Humboldt-toiyabe national forest

This will be a good long run for our newer No Boundaries 19.5. This is the 3rd and longest trip this setup has been on. I'll update this tread with pics as I get them.

Day 1 was driving from Reno, Nv down to Goldfield as a halfway point between home and valley of fire state park. Here are a few pics of the view from where we are staying.. pretty cool place.. Goldfield RV park.. which is essentially some guy's back yard that's got 5 marked pull through RV spots with full hookups.. but it works just fine for a 1 night stopover.

Looks great and you have 2 lucky little girls making sure they get to see some great sites, this will hopefully lead them to doing the same thing for their children a loooonggg way down the road. Looking forward to seeing more

Day 2 and day 3 were spent at valley of fire state park, an hour outside of Las vegas... we hit as many trails as we could.. here are a few photos..

My wifes parents drove out from thier home on southern California and met up with us on Saturday morning to do some hiking with us, and see thier grandkids that they dont see often.. some pictures of our hikes and such included.

Day 4 was spent driving through Zion National Park and Escalante national monument. Driving through the tunnel inside Zion with the TT in tow was a hoot. Not too many pictures as we basically ended up driving until I got tired, and ended up parking with the semi trucks at a Buger King in Kayenta, az..

Today was a pretty short drive. We drove from Kayenta, az to Mexican Hat, Utah. On the way we stopped at Monument Valley Navajo tribal park. After that, we pulled into Valle's RV park in Mexican Hat, unhooked and setup, enjoyed the views then proceeded on to gooseneck state park. After gooseneck, we travelled on to the city of Bluff, UT and the kids had a blast checking out the Fort Bluff attraction. It's a place dedicated to the pioneer days, and completely free, unless you choose to donate, or purchase items in the gift shop. We all got to dress up like pioneers, and do some cool things..

Now we are back at the camp spot, and will probably hit the Swingin Steak for dinner tonight.. more continued tomorrow..

Today was another couple of short 1.5 hour drives. First drive was to 4 corners, as my 6 year old was excited to get to be in all 4 states at once, then when she got there she didnt want us to take her picture.. From there, we drove over to our campsite inside of Morefield campground inside of Mesa Verde National Park. We explored the cliff dwellings and hung out around camp. Tomorrow we head to Moab, Canyonlands National park, and Arches..

Finally got some service. After Mesa Verde, we ended up at Kane Creek campground, in Moab, Utah. As that was our base camp, we spent two days exploring Arches National Park, and Canyonlands National Park, a d of course had to make a stop at Moab Coffee Roasters for Gelato and a nice blended Mocha for me.. we had some dirt road travel and dinosaur fossil exploring on one of thier trails out there. pictures of our explorations below..

Next up we drove to Capitol Reef National park, and stayed at Fruita campground. Did a little driving around Capitol Reef, then spent a lot of time chilling around camp.

After that, yesterday, we drove to Great Basin National park and stayed at Upper Leyman Campground. The spot was not very level but it was the last available spot and it was right by a nice creek. We just hung around camp mostly and went to the two visitors centers. We also took the scenic drive as far up in elevation as we could go before the road was closed. We made it to about 9500 foot elevation before the road was closed due to snow.

And tonight is our final night of camping. We are staying at Bob Scott campground near the town of Austin, NV. Just hanging around camp tonight, nothing special going on. Tomorrow, we have about 3.5 hours to drive tomorrow to get home. It's been an amazing trip with a few minor issues with the trailer, that I will dive into some more once I can get back to this and update it once we are home. More pictures...

Utah is one of the family's most favorite states. But while we keep trying, we feel like we've only seen a tiny sliver of what's available there.

Utah is amazing. I'd love to go see more, for sure. I will make another picture dump post in a bit and just upload a bunch of pictures to this post fir thise that care to look.
Just got done washing the outside of the trailer.. 2400 miles of road grime really adds up.

Great trip to take the family on. We love Utah also. We did Circle Tour of National Parks a few years ago by car. I can't wait to be able to do it in our RV. Thank's for posting all the great pics and waiting on more. I know how hard this is to do while travelling.
