Any RV Parks Near Irvine, CA?

I will likely be accepting a job in Irvine, CA after a year of traveling full time. I figure I'll stay in my trailer for at least a little while until I can find an apartment, but it doesn't look like I have many options for RV parks in that area.

Does anyone know of any RV parks that may not be listed in the Good Sam/Trailer Life directory that are in commutable driving distance to Irvine that have monthly rates? There's a couple on the ocean that are a fortune ($120/night) and others near disneyland (also expensive, and not my scene) but that's about all I've found so far. If there's a place to park that's off the radar, let me know!

Orangeland RV park near Disneyland was nice. It's a haul to Irvine, though.
Irvine is VERY expensive. You DO NOT want to be in Santa Ana or Costa Mesa-too many gang problems. Don't ask how I know. Grrrr....
Where exactly are you working? Down towards all the car companies or further inland?
Google is going to be your friend on this one, but I'd spend time looking for apartments instead if I were you.

I'll be set up at a place near the airport, not sure what area that counts as yet.

How does an area as expensive as that have a gang problem? It just seems the cost of living would make blighted areas and their associated gangs go away.

Any idea what a rental with parking for two would go for?

Life-long Orange County resident here - Check out:
- Newport Dunes in Newport Beach - the have long-term rates posted on their site and depending traffic, you'll be about 15 minutes from the airport. This is tied to a beautiful, 5-star resort area, so you'll have all kinds of services available (parking, laundry etc.)
- OC Fair and Event Center: Yes, you can camp at the fairgrounds, and for not a lot of money. Close to Irvine as well. They close the camp area for large events, and the OC Fair is going on right now...
- O'Neil or other county parks. They have a stay-limit, but are inexpensive and could be a good bet if you don't have a place picked out when you arrive.

While there is gang activity in certain spots, I think you'll find most areas to be pretty decent. I've never had any issues with the unsavory elements, even working in the heart of downtown Santa Ana.

Like BigBaron says, Google's probably going to be your friend, but feel free to post back to this thread with questions as you have them. I've lived here for a loooong time and would be happy to share what I know.

BigBaron is right. Housing in Irvine and the surrounding areas are very expensive. The Irvine Company has a lock on most of the rentals in the area, and the prices reflect that. You're probably looking at $2k/mo with utilities and fees for a decent 1bed/1bath apartment and that doesn't include a place to store your RV. (Add 2-400/more for that).
