Arizona frogs

A search for ARIZONA and AZ in this Western USA forum yielded very few results.

Though I'd try starting an ARIZONA FROGS thread, and see how many Frogs we can dig up.

Also see if there is any interest in putting a rally together here in Arizona. We have the best of both worlds in that we can head north in the summer to cool off, and south in the winter.

Might be nice to hold a weekend get together that could include those that are still in the working situation.

Thoughts?

If there is interest, perhaps we can get a Sticky on this thread.

We returned Monday from a week in Lakeside. The weather was a huge improvement on the heat of Casa Grande - highs about 80, lows in the 60s. We had rain off and on for the week, with some lightning and thunder. We stayed at Rainbow Forest RV Park, which is too small for our 5er. It was one of the fews parks to have space for a short term stay; most RV parks in the area are full of seasonal and permanent residents. We looked at Fool Hollow, but will have to plan ahead to get a space there. Very popular.

We took 101 around Phoenix, then up to Payson to 260. The road conditions were good, although there is construction east of Payson. And there were a few places where bumps and dips in the road caused some serious bouncing.

Thanks for the info Mike.

That's exactly the type of information that I was hoping we'd be able to gather in an Arizona thread.

Used to own a few places up in the Heber/Overgaard area, but sold them just before the big Rodeo fire. Got out just in time.

As soon as the Rodeo work slows down, I'll be looking for a few shake down trips not too far from home. Lakeside was one of the areas I was considering, but as you mentioned, RV spots can be sparse.

Hello from over here on the eastern side of the state. We didn't get out but once this summer because of working a crazy schedule.
I have a trip planned in October over into New Mexico around the Glenwood area.

We have nearly 350 FROG members registered in Arizona. If someone would like to organize a weekend event, we'd be glad to promote it with an e-mail blast to members in AZ and surrounding states, as well as on the FROG website.

New Vibe Owners

We bought a 6501 a few months ago after towing a 30 foot American Star for a few years. We like to boondock and have done so all over Arizona.
There are lots of places to meet in AZ if people like to dry camp.

We currently live in Illinois, just purchased an 8329 signature that we haven't even received yet, & are moving to the Phoenix area within 9 months so we would be interested in how your idea develops. maron

Well, welcome to the land of the Sun.

You have probably already checked things out, and realize that the words Phoenix and Winterizing are mutually exclusive. LOL

Again, welcome.

Count us in...we are ready for a weekend get together. We missed out on the last FROG gathering here at Lazy Days.

We like to go up north to Williams/White Horse Lake area, or Big Lake area in the summer. Sometimes the Mogollon Rim or Clint's Well. In the winter we go south to St. David, or west to Quartzsite. We love boondocking.
