Best route fm Palm Springs CA to Yuma, AZ

I'm headed out to Yuma in the AM and considering going east on I 10 and dropping down south at Blythe on 78; or down either side of the Salton Sea on 86 or 111 to join I 8. Not to interested in sight seeing but don't want that bone jarring I get over washboard, cracked or potholed roads.
Any good suggestions will be appreciated by me and my first mate.

Pretty good pull up out of Indio on I-10 but real good after that, Hwy 95was pretty good two years ago last I was on it.
Never been through the Salton Sea area yet but the west side is your best route.

Headed on West side of Salton Sea

Thanks for the suggestions. First time on a long trip and the areas are all new to us, been 35 years since we traveled this route.
