Boondocking in Nevada- Along Hwy 50/ 95?

My wife and I tow a 2010 Surveyor SP-186 behind our Toyota Tacoma and are looking for a neat place to desert camp this winter. We are attending a conference in Lake Tahoe the first part of November but then will be taking the week off. We were hoping to find a nice spot, maybe with some wildlife, off the beaten path. Anybody have any ideas???

You can look into staying at Walker River Resort, Smith Valley , Nevada. You are camped right on the Walker river very remote but with full hook up.

Nevada is a "high desert" and can still be chilly in the winter. Highway 50, "the loneliest road" is my favorite but south would be more favorable for winter. I'd like to suggest Lakeside RV Park in Pahrump. It is near, but comfortably removed from the Las Vegas scene.

Careful where you decide to "pull over." Not only does E.T. camp out there, but there are large stretches of military and DoE land there that you might not want to hang around in.

Bring a radiation counter if you camp "off the reservation" anywhere NW of Las Vegas. Many roads have signs "Do Not Stop; Maintain Speed" for your so called "safety."
