Branson - Summer 2018

We're planning on visiting relatives in Missouri this summer. We'll be taking/staying in our TT. Since we usually need something to do while we're there, we're thinking to go to Branson.

Looking for campground (summer - so electric, please!) info as well as must-see attraction suggestions.

Corp of Engineer park--Old Highway 86. About 15 minutes out of the rat race of Branson but close enough to go into town. Right on Table Rock Lake.

Table Rock State Park is nice. You need to make reservations now if you have you dates. Roaring River State Park is another park near Branson. Google Missouri State Park reservations and you can find more info on both.

Make sure you go to the Bass Pro in Springfield and visit the new Museum, it’s supposed to be amazing. Also go to Big Cedar and visit Top of the Rock. While neither are in Branson both are close and worth seeing.

Bass Pro has Long Creek Marina campground but it is under construction and says it will open in 2018. FYI it has been closed for over two years now.

Stayed at Wilderness Campground connected with Silver Dollar City. Full Hook up and well taken care of, but sites were close together and lots of trees close to road can make maneuvering touchy. Saw one guy bump a tree while backing into his site. Happened before I could get over and get his attention. Luckily just a little bump no damage to truck.

X2. Love this place but if you’re going to go to Silver Dollar City don’t forget about Indian Point COE. Two our our favs in Branson.

We just stayed there this past fall. Cooper creek rv resort. On the river/lake across from college of the ozarks. Quiet and easy access to the sites in Branson or to get out of town. We went and saw the Heygoods. Really good show. Visited the dam at Table Rock Lake and Top of the Rock. Just a few of the things we did when we there.

Americas Best Campground (RV Park & Campgrounds in Branson, MO | America's Best Campground) ( is a couple miles off the heavy traffic, all pull through spots, pool and hot tub. Discounts for veterans and a variety of memberships. Stayed there three times before the below.

We also liked Table State Park. Highly recommend that you eat lunch at College of the Ozarks and go to Site and Sound Theater in Branson. Bull Shoals State Park in Arkansas is not too far from Branson.

Cooper Creek is a nice RV Resort. There are many RV parks in the area.
Plan a meal at College of the Ozarks and tour the grounds. Also, visit Top of the Rock... ride on golf cart through cave and along path past waterfalls and beautiful scenery (take as much time as you want) and the restaurant there (there are two, one is less expensive than the other). The museum at Top of the Rock was Awesome! Took us two hours to go through. Take the elevator down to the winery (its dark down there) make your way to the beautiful old stone church and go inside.
Like others have said, a trip to the Bass Pro Shop in Springfield and I’ll add the Amish Country Store in Branson. There is so much to do and see in Branson. I need to stop rattling on, just Google Branson. We stayed nine days this last September/October and never was bored with lack of anything to do.

Been to two there. Branson Lakeside RV Park is adjacent to the Branson Landing shopping center which by the way, has a Bass Pro Shop. The RV park flooded last year so not sure if it is up and running again. Sites close together. Musicland Kamp Ground is adjacent to the Titanic Museum and easy (but up hill) walk to several theaters. It is all on a hillside and sites are level but tricky get in and some steep side and rear drop offs. Staff take you to your site and assist getting you in. DW always makes a stop at the Kris Kringle Christmas shop (open year round) and I always enjoy the Coleman Factory Outlet store to check out camping stuff.

Escapees has Turkey Creek RV Park. Close. Very nice. Pull thrus and backins. Less than $20 for members. Only a few bucks more if not member. No matter where you stay; you probably should reserve ASAP. Happy travels.

Ozark View RV Park. It's about halfway between Branson, MO and Harrison, AR. Nice park with super nice owners.

Oak Grove RV Park in the heart of Branson is very nice, all paved sites and super clean restrooms and laundry. Another would be Tall Pines, is a very beautiful park but all gravel and interior rods are getting in poor repair since we were there last.

Table Rock State Park has some full hookup sites. We also like Mill Creek Park and Campground, it is a COE park. Sites are W/E, if you can get on the pennisula it is really cool. You can literally stand in the middle of the road, throw a rock one way into the water, turn around and throw one the other way and hit water. Check it out, its about 15-20 minutes from the cental part of Branson. As previously said lots of campgrounds to choose from. As far as things to do, Silver Dollar City, Dixie Stampede, lots of music shows, museams just google Branson, Mo and you will see. Good luck, John

We are newbies to RVING and the first place we went was to BRANSON TREEHOUSE ADVENTURES in West Branson. It is close to Siver Dollar City. Very well kept, all hook ups, easy for us to get our TT in and out. They were working on updating the WiFi when we were there and they just had hot spots. Good prices and Vet discounts but you have to tell them. Also there is a new Aquarium in Springfield I hear is a must to see. Andy’s on the main drag has the best concert ice cream.

There are several must see and do things in Branson. We went this past summer and stayed in our 5th wheel at Table Rock Lake State Park.

College of the Ozarks - The dining experience is wonderful and very reasonably priced. The students who go to school there also to work at the college. They raise the produce, fish, and meat that they serve. reservations are a must.

Sight and Sound Theater- “Samson”. A fsbulous tjeater experience

The Million Dollar Quartet - great show if you like Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins.
