CA HW1 from Half Moon Bay to OR-WA border

Getting ready to do HW 1 from Half Moon Bay to Oregon - Washington border. Any hidden hot spots? We like pubs, wine, local eats, music!
Thanks!

Happy owner of SOB!!!

Nana's Irish Pub at Nye Beach, in Newport Oregon. Hands down our favorite spot to eat in the area. We've been to the Newport area around 6 times over the past 10 years. Can't get enough of the Oregon Coast. We even made a side trip one year on the motorbikes on our way back from California, just for Nana's meatloaf.
Best clam chowder by far that we have had is at The Sea Hag in Depoe Bay.

AFAIK, once you get to SF, Highway 1 ends, From there on it's US 101 up the coast. Certainly in Oregon it's an easy drive most of the time. We've done Astoria to Brookings a couple of times. We haven't ventured into CA very far. If you're doing it in late fall, be aware that fall is when Cal DOH gets into its highway maintenance program and there can be dozens of one-way traffic zones.

The biggest problem last time was that the fridge died the day before we left. We must have visited every Fred Meyer store on the coast, buying ice!
