Clovis, New Mexico

We're going to be spending a few nights in (or near) Clovis, N.M. and wondering if anyone can recommend one of the RV parks or Campgrounds there?

Ok, I guess Clovis isn't considered a place to stop over. After a little research I'm looking at Oasis State Park in N.M. At least hat will allow us to skirt around the Clovis traffic. Happy Camping!

Been through Clovis a bunch on way to Portales........spent 10 years straight staying in hotel there to antelope hunt on a guy's farm. To be honest, Clovis isn't where I'd stop to camp. I don't remember seeing any campgrounds. However, the area around Portales and Roswell is about the only places I've been in NM. I really liked Roswell, a clean place. Portales was not so new and neat........but the Sunday brunch at the family owned mexican place is worth a drive from anywhere!!!

Sorry, best I can do.....

Actually that's helpful, just looking for a halfway stopover coming and going. The Oasis State Park is just outside of Portales and I'm sure it will work well. Portales will have fuel and supplies so we're good to go. Used to hotel it in Clovis before we got the TT.

It looks like there are 6 places to park an RV around Clovis. Go here to check out the reviews: http://campgroundreviews.com

Just make sure you're upwind of the stockyards.

The part of Clovis most people see is the rail yard and US 84 through the south side of town. We lived there for 5 years and liked it. We lived in the north east part of town. There were RV parks in the area were full most of the time. I think they have a lot of visitors to Cannon AFB. I had an employee that lived in his 5er at one of them, close to the college.

Agreed, we learned to stay in one of the hotels on the north end - quite a contrast to the busy south end with it's major rail lines.

TsnTexas

We have relatives in Clovis, Portales and Roswell.
The dump station at Oasis State Park was closed, not sure if it still is.
