First day in yellowstone and went to old faithful and other geysers (just in the truck...no trailer...). A few short hills but nothing I would be worried about with the trailer.
Looking forward to the rest of the week and heading to Teton later.

Second day in yellowstone and went to mammoth, tower, lemar areas. Some good 7% grades from tower to mount washburn otherwise, not bad.
FYI...

Third day in yellowstone and went to cayon & falls, hayden valley and yellowstone lake. On the way from yellowstone lake to old faithful there was some long 4-5% grades. Will be taking them tomorrow morning on the way to the Tetons with the camper.

When you visit the Grand Teton area, don't miss a chance to hike around Jenny Lake, just south of Jackson Lake. It is one of the most beautiful hiking areas my wife and I have ever visited. Start in the early morning, it is about a 9-mile hike, but relatively flat and unchallenging even for those of us in our early 70's. Make sure to bring lots of fresh water. There is also the option of riding a tour boat from the Activity Center at the south end of the lake over to the west side, and then hike back. Dinner at the Jenny Lake Lodge is a truly special treat.

Fourth day and left yellowstone. The path from West to South yellowstone was not too bad. A few 4-5% grades but not bad at all. The old 6.0 gasser did me just fine. I did leave at 7.30am and did not have much traffic. Was down in colter bay by 9.30am. Had to wait till 12.30pm to check in but had some nice walks around the lake.
I hope this helps others. Happy camping....

Yes this is helping. We leave in a few weeks to the Tetons then Grizzley RV park. How was the traffic on the reverse side of the road through Yellowstone? We will be doing it in reverse but thought we needed to leave by 5am. You said 7:30am worked out fine, that would be great if we could also leave at that time.

For Jenny Lake hike, do you have to go the entire 9 miles? we have an 8 year old.

DM,
The traffic coming from the south enterance was not bad until about 8.30am. When we hit west thumb is when it picked up. The gate at south enterance was backed (~40) deep. I think 7.30am would be just fine.

DM,
There is a ~2 mile hike at colter bay that is beautiful and would be fine for an 8 yr old.

Jakie-boy,
We made it to Jenny Lake today. Afraid we did not take the 9 mile hike but agree it's a beautiful area....
