Death Valley - Furnace Creek campground

just wondering if anyone stayed there this past winter, went to campgroundphotos.com and they listed several campsites now have electrical service along with pictures, however when looking at NPS page and their resveration site they don't mention electric. Tryed to call the Death Valley NPS but got a recorded message to call the resveration number and as far as they know no electric. Thanks for the help.

Don't know about Furnace creek but we stayed at Stovepipe wells for 8 days last December and it was nice they have 14ish spots with hookups you need to order them through the hotel though. The NPS does not maintain the sites with hookups.

Death Valley National Park RV Park and Camping | Stovepipe Wells Village

It was very nice and the prices for gas and groceries were much cheaper there than at Furnace creek. Also just cross the store and road (about 200' from campsite) is the pool, showers (at pool) and hotel lobby with coffee and internet for you to use. I also think you are more centrally located to explore the whole park. Also the campground looks out into the desert/dunes area so you don't feel quite as boxed in as in furnace creek area.

As a side note we are heading to Pueblo on Friday going to road trip the 40 to the 25 stopping at the tourist traps along the way visit family stay for the 4th then run the 50 to the 15 home.

Sadly without trailer, money is too tight to justify the gas in the big truck. With my wife's Honda Civic we can drive and stay in motels for the cost of just gas in the truck.

Furnace Creek does have some sites with hookups. The only ones I know about are behind the store in the date palm groves. You have to make reservations through the store and not the NPS reservation system. They are not much, but do offer hookups.

I am not aware of other hookup sites in any of the NPS campgrounds, but it sure would be nice. I have not been there for several years, so things could have changed.

For my money, I would stay at Stovepipe Wells. The hookup sites are nice (for Death Valley LOL), and it is not far to Scotty's Castle, the Sand Dunes, and is a short drive to Rhyolite (a ghost town and small mining town), and of course to Furnace Creek.
