Few pics from Oregon

I'm finally getting around to sweeping the sand out of the trailer after our trip a few weeks ago and thought I'd put up a few of the pictures I took. We stayed in the Cape Kiwanda Rv park (Pacific City, OR) for the annual spring break jet ski ride. Every spring a handful of us hit the coast to shake out the cobwebs and take our water scooters out in the surf just north of Pacific City. The weather was awesome this year, clear, sunny and pretty warm for March. Good times were had by all, especially once the cast iron came out for midnight street tacos!

Great pictures, but the fat man in me wants to know more about these "midnight street tacos"?!

Easy and delicious. Olive oil in the pan, pan in the fire. Ingredients as follows:
-Meat
-Cilantro
-Onion
-Chipotle tabasco
-Lime

1. Cook your meat of choice (we did a mixture of chorizo and carne asada chopped up one night and a chicken fajita type mix another) in the pan with some olive oil.
2. While that's cooking, chop up fresh cilantro and onion.
3. I also put a little olive oil on corn tortillas while the meat is cooking.
4. Once the meats done, put it in a bowl to the side and throw the tortillas in the pan (I overlap them around the perimeter of the pan-usually fitting about 6 at a time). They brown up in few minutes, flip them before they burn.
5. Once the tortillas are done, add meat, cilantro/onion mix, top with chipotle tabasco and fresh squeezed lime.
6. Crack open another Corona, Pacifico, Dos Equis, etc. and enjoy!

We stayed in a cabin at Cape Kiwanda while riding the Oregon coast a number of years back. Went back in the Jeep and stayed in a motel a few years back, and got to cross the "drive on a beach" off my bucket list.
We have two weeks booked at South Beach State Park in July.....can hardly wait for it. I love the Oregon coast.

You definitely should! We really lucked out with the weather, it rained up until the day we arrived and started pouring again the day after we left. Coastal weather is pretty unpredictable but we've lucked out over the years and definitely had more nice days than not.

We were in Pac City for 2 weeks last September and were lucky enough to catch sunsets like this almost every night of the trip.

Nice! Those cabins are great...we too stayed in them before we got the trailer. There's definitely something special about the Oregon coast...I've been vacationing there since I was a kid and it still never gets old.

Last time we drove north out of Pacific City we saw a mother bear and two cubs crossing the road, heading for the beach. Now we have regular bear "visits" here around our house quite often, but I'd never seen a coastal beach bum bear before.

Oregon coast is nice, but only 3 months of the year the weather is warm enough to play in the water. I guess I'm a little spoiled as I do live here (Portland). I won't get a chance to take my motorhome to Cape Kiwanda, though I visit that beach often from Lincoln City that's about 30 minutes away. But glad you folks enjoy the Oregon coast though.

3 months! Time to upgrade the wetsuit! We ride pac city a few times a year starting in March and finishing up in September...diehards I suppose. Water temps are in the 30's on the desert side of the state (Tri-Cities) so the 50 degree pacific is like bathwater in March. I'm very jealous of your location...Portland is one of the few places the wife and I have discussed ever moving to and it's atop our list.
