First trip to Cali.

The family( 2 kids 8-10, the wife, me) and I are planning a 10 day trip from San Diego up the PCH to San Fran and back home(Albuquerque). Wife wants as much beach as possible. I need suggestions on RV parks, stops, etc. we are definitely stopping in Monterrey and Big Sur.

when are you planning on going?
if it's this summer and you haven't made reservations at any state parks by this time, you'll probably have to stick with private RV parks. any beach state park campsites were gone 6 months ago.

and, what RV will you be driving? are you planning on driving Highway 1 from San Simeon to Monterey? not for the faint of heart if you're driving a big rig RV.

expecting to camp at California beach campgrounds in the summer, without making reservations 6 months earlier, will be disappointing.
they disappear within seconds the morning they become available.
