FREEZING!!!

I came down to Deming, NM for the winter. Ha!! I'm leaving here Monday. I'm buying a generator so I can boondock, but as a single female, I'm a little concerned with safety. Any suggestions for safe places to boondock in southern Arizona - other than behind the VFW in Yuma?? I'm going to mosey on up to Quartzite then hang around until the weather gets good and go on up to Monument Valley and Moab before heading west again. I also want to go to 29 Palms CA to see what things look like out there since I left in 1986! Would appreciate any boondocking suggestions as well as any dog-friendly RV parks anywhere in Arizona, California, Oregon and Washington. May go to Vancouver Island this summer. Who knows?? An RVer's plans are written in Jello!!

My main problem is that I have six dogs - 4 chihuahuas, a black and tan hound dog and a (heaven forbid) sweetheart of a little 1-year old Albino Pit Bull. RV parks don't like me. Or they don't like my little Pittie. That's why I'm just going to try to boondock and stay away from RV parks.

Thanks bunches!!

Have you heard of 4 paws kingdom? it is really far from you (NC) and better in the spring/fall as it gets cold here in the winter but is well known for just how dog friendly it is. Sadly I can't camp there because it's not human kid friendly.

Maybe it's not the Pit but the fact that there are 6 dogs?

If you are looking for places to disperse camp in and around Moab down to Monticello, send me a PM. I just moved up here from Moab, after living there for 6 years, and believe me, I know of all the BLM campgrounds and places to disperse camp.

BLM has no limits on the number of dogs in their campgrounds, just a regulation that they have to be on leashes; however, the Rangers usually accept staked dogs as long as the owner is out with them. Most important in the campground is they don't bark and disturb other campers.

But that entire area from Monticello north to Moab area has thousands of placed you can disperse camp and not have a neighbor; depending on when you will be there.

Yes - it's the number mostly but it's also breed restrictions in a lot of parks that don't care about the number. My four chihuahuas make up one dog, so I really only have 3 dogs (LOL!!). I have wonderful dogs up for adoption! Anyone?

I have a friend from California, she is at Quartzite AZ right now. Her name is Kassy Dolen, has a A-POD that she travels in. She is into rocks and making jewelry, She has told me it's like a big family there. She loves it. Safe travels....

There is a small group of FR3 owners who plan to hit Quartzite over the MLK weekend in January for the RV show. If you want to meet up with us check out the FR3 forums. Although I'm in Tucson I don't know anything about the local RV parks, but I would be happy to tell you if a certain area of town is safe for a single lady with a "total" of 3 dogs.
