Glacier National Park
Looking at trying Glacier National Park sometime this summer. I am told July and August is not a good time. Any suggestions or concerns? I'm told 21' is the maximum RV allowed.

Why would you think July and August would be bad, crowds? Sign on to reserve america and that will tell you rv length limits.Plus, the park has the largest concentration of grizzly bears in the lower 48, and August is feeding time on huckleberries. So, your chance to see them are greater. Remember, the weather turns earlier there, thats why they have glacial ice still.Just sayin'

This is incorrect, there are places at St Marys that accept up to 35 ft trailers. However, those sites fill up fast (Recreation.gov) the 21 foot restriction is for the "going to sun road" You can't be 21 feet in length or longer. That is total length, not just your trailer.
Most of the Campgrounds are first come first serve there... and cater to smaller sized campers. July and August are busy, but by far the nicest weather. Shuttle service and many of the vendors are shut down by the 2nd week in September.

Going to the Sun Road normally is not open until July.
Low snowfall this year may move it up a week.
"While exploring or touring Glacier National Park, be mindful that there is a maximum overall RV length limit (22-foot length, 8-foot width) on the Going-to-the-Sun Highway in the park. "

Try the National Park's web site for some good information:
Glacier National Park (U.S. National Park Service)
Yes, total length is limited to 21' so you can't pull a trailer and large pickup campers are also prohibited. From the park's web site:
Are there vehicle size restrictions on the Going-to-the-Sun Road?
Yes. To help reduce congestion, vehicle size restrictions are in effect. Vehicles, and vehicle combinations, longer than 21 feet (including bumpers) or wider than 8 feet (including mirrors), are prohibited between Avalanche Campground and the Rising Sun picnic area parking. Vehicle and vehicle combinations over 10 feet in height may have difficulty driving west from Logan Pass to the Loop, due to rock overhangs. Stock trucks and trailers are able to access Packers Roost on the west, and Siyeh Bend on the east.

Correct, but that is just on the "Going to the Sun Road." St Marys clearly lists sites up to 35 foot

July August -- Bad Bugs!
If you haven't been on the GTTSH, it's fantastic. I'd leave the trailer at the bottom and just enjoy the ride across the divide.

Officially the park never closes but many park services start closing one week after Labor Day. With that said its a lot less crowded the later u go.
