Great Colorado State Park

Had a chance to stay in Ridgeway State Park, Ridgeway, Colorado.
Great park. Sites were large and well spaced. Three separate loops. One had full hook ups. We stayed 5 days in the Elk Ridge Loop. Electric only with water close by for easy refills. Dump station on the way out.
Excellent access to the San Juan mountains and a nice lake if you're in to fishing or boating.
Have to say it rained or snowed on us every day until the day we left but since we were camping in our "deluxe accommodations" it really didn't matter. Love our FR Camper. Dry place to sleep and didn't have to cook breakfast in the rain.
Beautiful area if you ever get the chance to visit and one very nice campground
OC,
If you're monitoring, the last photo is just for you. Persons of our "experience level" will remember when they looked like this

Nice picks...Colorado State Parks are our favorite but haven't made it up to Ridgeway, yet.

Next year, you need to go try out out Golden Gate Canyon State Park which is west of Boulder and not far from Rocky Mountain Nation Park...they don't have any full-hook ups but do many pull-thrus that have electricity and a couple dumping stations close by....breathtaking scenario and critters all over the place and the best part is the National Park gets all the traffic so you're not around very many campers.

Thanks for the info on Ridgeway SP, it looks like you had a great campsite. It looks as though the Aspens were in their full fall glory during your visit. Great photos and thanks for sharing them.

Great photos! I'm not up to the experience level of OC but I remember those! And Golden Gate Canyon is a great park. We stayed there for several nights in May 2013. A little snow each morning but we were high and dry! I guess that could have an alternative meaning in Colorado now!

Yes our legalized pot experiment has been horrible....crime is skyrocketing, cops don't have guidance on what's illegal while driving while stoned, people in apartments (many with kids) are complaining about neighbors pot smoke coming into their windows and there's nothing anybody can do, drug lords have moved into the state (including the more violent drug lords from Mexico) and a poll this week in Colorado said 60% of us are wanting to make it illegal again.

Thankfully, my county (El Paso) is not allowing pot to be sold here...you have to go up north into Denver for that nonsense. (But employees ARE allowed to enforce a policy of "no drugs" which includes pot because it's, still, a Federal law as well as any government job and, of course, the military.

Absolutely breathtaking! Thank you for sharing the pics

Sometimes I have to do a little work on a trip and was wondering if there is any cellular signal here. I would love to visit this park

Thanks all for the comments. To Mrs Evans, yes, there is cell service in the park and surrounding area. Thanks Rick for the info about Golden Gate Canyon. I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to RMNP so anything close by there is I'm sure going to be beautiful. Looking forward to plans for next seasons adventures!
