Heading to The Springs in Anza Borrego

Hello all, leaving on February 16th, returning February 19th. Looking forward to some rest, relaxation, stars and some light desert trails.

Any advice or must see sites is appreciated.

Bill

The slot is pretty cool. Nothing like Zion, but definitely worth the hike. There is a cool Oasis that you can hike to. Also, there is a cool overlook over the Badlands that is worth the drive.

Lots of dispersed camping. We liked the one that is off of little Blair valley Rd.

If you haven't been there before visit Galleta Meadows to see the metal sculptures. You can spend several hours visiting them.

Anza Borrego

My wife and I are heading there this weekend 2-10/2-12 for our 35th anniversary, have read information on Borrego Night Sky Tours so might give that a try.

I believe it's $59/person but from the reviews I read it's well worth the cost.

Go to the Chamber of Commerce in Borrego Springs to get a map of the sculptures. They are scattered around north and south of town. The Chamber also has info on everything to see, and all the events. You should also go to see the Salton Sea. Google "Visit Salton Sea" for ideas. I am currently boondocking on a canyon rim just above Salton City, and I went to see the sculptures today.

We had a blast!!! The RV park was clean and the amenities we great. Town was close by with some great restaurants. We drove the Jeep to some hiking spots. Will definitely be going back. The only downside was we hit a sandstorm on the way back.
