Well, going to Yellowstone and Grand Teton tomorrow for a week. Looking forward to it. Anybody ever been to the fishing bridge RV park? if so, how is it?

it's a parking lot with RV's crammed close together.
just Google the name and look at Images.
it's not like the other campgrounds which have big campsites. but it's the only one in the park, with hookups.
we were glad we stayed at Madison, Grant and Canyon.
we would've hated Fishing Bridge.

I agree.... It's a parking lot.... Only stay there if full hook ups are a MUST..... We are coming up in a week ourselves and we are staying in West Yellowstone at Grizzly CG for 5 nights, then Bridge Bay in park for two nights, then Flagg Ranch for two nights then Colter Bay Village CG for two nights....
We stayed at Fishing Bridge two years ago and it's just a place for hook-ups - no typical CG feel and definitely no nature feel....

Have you come back yet? Any thoughts about your trip and the campground in general?

Yes, the reviews on Fishing river were accurate, they do cram you in! Thr campground was built in the 60's and rv's weren't as big back then so size wasn't the problem. We were gone most of the days anyway so it was a great relax with a movie in the evening. There aren't many National parks that ave full hook ups within their boundaries. We stayed at Colton Bay campground in Grand Teton and it was great! We had a generator. Looking forward to going back (btw, Yellowstone has Bison, not Buffalo!)

We're heading to Yellowstone at the end of August and staying at Grizzly RV park in West Yellowstone, MT. We will be going on the Wagon Ride Cookout in the Roosevelt area. The season ends for the cookout on 9/1 so we're getting in just under the wire.

Sounds great! Are you part of thr FROG group rendezvous? When you go to Roosevelt cookout, be sure to go from Mammoth Hot Springs and head east. There is a lot of road construction going north from Canyon Village.Let me know how the RV park is.

No, we’re not part of the FROG rally at Yellowstone although we will be there about the same time. We had made our reservations at Grizzly RV Park back in January long before the rally announcement. We have stayed at Grizzly before and it is an outstanding RV park and located just a couple of blocks from the west entrance to the park. Grizzly is an RV park and doesn’t have the feel of most of the campgrounds within the park but my wife and I prefer full hookups.
Thanks for the heads up on the road construction heading north from Canyon Village. We were in Yellowstone in 2010 and the road from Madison north was all construction. It took us 40 minutes to drive the 14 miles from Madison to Norris. You might say the drive was a bear.

I realize this is an old thread, but for whoever was heading to Yellowstone the end of August, make sure you check for possible road closures due to fires. The road from Fishing Bridge to the south end of the Hayden Valley was closed yesterday due to the Alum fire, and periodic road closures are possible.
Hopefully they will get it out before you get there but there are so many fires around the Utah/Idaho/Montana area that you're likely to have it quite smokey.
