Hello friends

In case you haven't noticed, I have not been posting here for awhile. The reason being is that the DW brought our computer back to Best Buy for its service check and updates while I was in Las Vegas.

No problem with that, but when we got it back almost nothing worked the same as it did before we brought it in.

DW made a phone call to BB and they said to bring it in and they would download everything to a disk and deprogram the computer, but it would cost us $85.

I didn't like the idea of paying them $85 to back up information on a computer that was working before we brought it in for routine maintenance.

Long story short - we didn't have to pay the $85 and BB found some more viruses (sp) that were causing problems. Everything is working now.

During the time I didn't have computer access, I realized how much the internet has worked itself into being a part of my daily living routine - sort of like eating or driving.

And yes, I couldn't wait to get back into this forum to see what has been going on.

Welcome back.

My brother-in-law got his laptop back from BB without any of the original programs. BB did mention he would need to reload the programs using the backup disk he should had created. Note the key words - should have created. It was cheaper to buy a new laptop than pay for each program. I believe he has a backup disk now that he knows he needs to create one.

I guess that is a good thing to do in the future. I learn something new every day when it comes to computers.
