Hot camping in Big Bend!

We just got back from a 10 night vacation in the big bend area! Spent. 5 nights in Davis mountains state park at fort davis tx. Then 3 nights in Big Bend. Followed by 2 nights in San Angelo State Park. My wife has a blog at

Had a great time no problems but I noticed one thing I had a question on. It got so hot in big bend that it melted the caulk on my camper! Anyone ever seen that? Hope everyone has a good summer!

Sounds like you had a great time. Next time, pop over to Balmoreah State Park for a nice cool swim.

I've never seen the caulk melt in a trailer but my wife and I rode our motorcycles down to Big Bend once and couldn't park in the welcome center's parking lot because the bike side stands dug into the hot asphalt too far and they would not stay upright.

I have been told that you are to visit Big Bend, Texas from October 15 thru the end of March, other wise it is to hot. Did your AC (s) keep you cool?
