I 90 RV parks Montana to PA

Hi all,
Heading back from Glacier NP and need nicer parks than KOAs.
Found Pine Grove Park, but need five more.
Ones with pubs would be nice, but not required
Thx

just a general observation here... I think that if you drop down to I-74 into Indy and then use I-70 across east IN and into Ohio you will have a much larger selection of camps then sticking around I-90... I know using OH I-90 you have very few close-by choices of non-KOA camping within a reasonable distance

Suggest you check out campgroundreviews.com
I used them for my trip Ohio to WY and home. Some on 90 and some on 80.
I switched using I29 and avoided WI and northern IL

Just came back from Yellowstone to PA on I-90.

1st Stop - Buffalo, WY
Indian Campground - Buffalo, Wyoming RV and Tent Campground
Not bad for a stop over. Pull through sites, friendly people and I recall the bath house was clean. Easy to gas up prior to getting back on Interstate.

2nd Stop - Spearfish, SD
https://elkhornridgeresort.com/rv-sites
FANTASTIC. Off the interstate a little but worth every penny.
CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN
We stayed here 3 nights because it was centrally located to Devils Tower and Mt. Rushmore.

3rd Stop - Adrian, MN
https://www.facebook.com/Adrian-Camp...-205357179267/
If you are desperate... Ok, but I do not recommend.
Municipal Campground. Long uncut grass, sites seemed large but really difficult to ID your site and where to pull in. Bathrooms... Close your eyes.

Now this is where it got tough. We drove through WI and into IL. Our plan was to avoid Chicago, but we were having a difficult time finding a 4 or 5 star place. We overshot our I-39 cutoff to I-80 and ended up at a KOA because it was about 9pm.

4th Stop - Union, IL
https://koa.com/campgrounds/chicago/
Get there before they close at 9pm. There are gates, you can't just take an open spot and pay in the morning. Really tight sites. Your neighbors power pedestal is right next to your picnic table. Our awning was over our neighbors pedestal.

We did not want to back track and stayed on I-90 to Chicago.
Unless you have plans in Chicago... DON'T DO THIS!!! Traffic, Construction, poor signs and tolls will have you white knuckled. Both my wife and I were on high alert until we left the city and got into IN.

Here was my EZPASS bill for I-90, Ohio and PA Trpks
Illinois State Toll Highway Authority - 1 ($4.65)
Illinois State Toll Highway Authority - 7 ($7.35)
Illinois State Toll Highway Authority - 9 ($0.75)
Illinois State Toll Highway Authority - 19 ($3.65)
Indiana Toll Road Concession Company - WPT 2 ($2.23)
Indiana Toll Road Concession Company - CLE 2 ($1.78)
Indiana Toll Road Concession Company - EPT 3 ($13.98)
Skyway Concession Company - SKE 2 ($5.20)
Gateway Barrier - 2 3 ($15.53)
Blue Mountain - 201 2 ($26.29)

The next night got really tough. It was Friday June 29th. We were not thinking that many people considered that July 4th weekend. DW spent 4 hours on the phone while I was driving trying to find a place that did not require a multiple night stay. There are probably some great places but we ended up at another KOA. This one was a little nicer however.

5th Stop - Lake Milton, OH
https://koa.com/campgrounds/lake-milton/
That was their grand opening. Nice place for an overnight, large sites. Showers... Could be better. These KOA showers are not individual rooms with locking doors like most KOA's. They leave the doors open for ventilation. All the bugs come in at night. The showers also work on a chain. So the water goes off when you let go. There must be better place to choose. We were just desperate because of the holiday.

That's it! Have Fun!
Ron

watch the winds on anywhere in I-90 in MN. its flat and open, so it can be very gusty at times. make sure your sway control is on and working. watch the wind turbines in dodge center! and wave as you pass Winona on your way out of the state heading to 80.

Rapid City/Blackhills KOA is a GREAT stop. Was there last week just before the start of Sturgis bike week. One of the best KOA's I have ever stayed at.
