Also a late starter, but I'm having fun playing catch up.

We were 46 years old with a 6 year old son when we bought our first (and only) camper. We are looking to upgrade to a 5th wheel in the future. But for now we take as many trips with our TT as time/work allows.

I think I'd prefer buffalo power, more torque.

There is nothing like the freedom of tent camping. But when the body does not like it on the ground anymore (even with air mattress) it was time to get a TT.

I love that moose picture. I really have not been to far east, but the West is the best.

I purchased my first and only TT at age 56 with no camping or towing experience. It took me an hour to back in my MicroLite the first time. I can do it now in five minutes with one arm tied behind my back, blindfolded, in a horrendous thunderstorm, during the dark of the moon. Practice makes perfect. I can start a roaring campfire with cotton balls, olive oil, and a flint rock thanks to YouTube. I have become more aware of conserving water while camping, and considerate of fellow campers. Most importantly, I have learned to disconnect from electronics and be one with God's creation. This is an addiction from which I don't want to recover. God Bless America.

When dating, DH and I did the tent thing. After the first kid,we got a used pop up (the kind where you pulled out each end) then a new pop up, then a used trailer (my dad's Carriage) then a new trailer Prowler we loved and had for 13 years, then another new trailer (2013 Crossroads Cruiser-buyer's remorse) then a bigger TT our 2014 Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 8315 BSS. Loving it!! see you in Goshen next month!

Welcome to your new addiction.... just wait until you start adding all kinds of mods to the trailer only to decide it's time to upgrade to something else... yup been there done that too. Even bought the t shirt (well ok that). next you need to try camping rallies. They are soo much fun. I'm the same age as you, we started 5 yrs ago when dd was 3 1/2 yrs old. Not sure why I fought dh for so long on doing this. Now I count the work days until the next trip. I also think it was great for our family. Enjoy.

Actually DH is a wood worker and cabinet maker by trade so he has made 4-5 "improvements." Yeah, he's salivating for a Cedar Creek but we have to pace ($$) ourselves. We've done 3 rallies so far - loving it - and will be at Goshen next month. See you there!
