Sorry for the delay we have been busy exploring.
The Buffalo picture was taken while driving thru wind Cave Park in South Dakota. Wind Cave is adjacent to the black Hills.
The moose picture was taken in our campground near rocky Mountain National Park. That is not my camper in the picture but the one next to us. Those two walked between our campers and when they cleared mine they saw my family 5 yds away at the campfire and decided to turn around and head back. We didn't notice them til they cleared the camper and just yds from us. Gave us a chance to grab the camera!

Around lunch we moved on South to a campground near the royal gorge. Very interesting campground. They have places to camp with your rv but nothing special. The really neat thing here is they restore vintage campers. They have the restored campers randomly placed thru out the campground and they are for rent on a nightly basis. They look really cool and it is such a neat idea.
The place is called starlight campground in canon city Colorado. It's just a couple miles from the gorge but unfortunately right on Highway 50 so a bit noisy. The owners are very nice so that helps too. (to keep up with their vintage theme the owners of the campground were drinking hamms on their porch tonight!)

Welcome to the club!! I was in my twenties when I bought my first Slide-in to pull a dune buggy to Glamis Dunes. I'm now 73 and still have the habit!! We try to take at least four trip a year to see something we haven't seen before..

Oh so nice!! You give me, an old folks, hope for the future. This is a lot of fun, I think Rv "camping" would be a great way to raise kids. I wish I had the brains and courage to do this this when my kids were young. Keep us posted.

For me it was the 60s,,, I had a friend that delivered Hamms,,, and they would let the employees put what they wanted in the cooler before they went out on there routs in the morning,,, I would meet him @ the warehouse after work,,, and we would put down a cold one,,, or two !!! or 6 !!!
Hamms was from The Sky Blue Waters,,, over in Cheeshead Country !!!

Welcome to the lifestyle and to the forum. I didn't start until last year at age 55. It is addictive. Just got back from a 2 week trip to the Badlands/Mt. Rushmore and Yellowstone. What a great life! It is never too late!
Beer? In the 70's around Belleville, Illinois, the choices were Schlitz and Pabst Blue Ribbon. The Pabst commercials sold me. If it won a blue ribbon, it had to be good, right?

I love Rocky Mountain National Park. That is one place we would go to for my birthday in Sept. Wildlife and the Aspen are golden.

If I remember right,,, Bud - Miller & Pabst were Premium priced beers,,, meaning they cost more !!!
Did you not have Blatz,,, the beer that made Milwaukee famous ???
We also had Strohs,,, it was Fire Brewed !!!

My X father in law and all his buddies all drank Blatz,,, was it Meisterbrau that came in a bottle so big it took 2 hands to hold it ???
