Julian, CA

We're planning a 3 days/2 nights road trip to Julian, CA, this coming Friday

Has anyone travel recently or plan to travel or pass through hwy 78 between Escondido and Julian?

Would like to know the current road condition, is it very hilly, steep grades, construction etc?

I know there is a lot of winding curves.

I was just in Julian last weekend (just a a day trip) if your camping in Julian the roads are twisty as you approach for the last 5 or 6 miles. Over all not too bad unless you have a straight long combo.

I am lying in my trailer in Julian right now! This is our first outing in our new Rockwood . It's 33'10 which is about 10 feet longer than my last trailer. It was an easy pull even on the last 10 miles. I am currently at Pinezanita RV park which I would highly recommend and I don't generally enjoy an RV park. I have also camped recently at Cuyumaca State park Picachu campground. Beautiful but no hook ups which is fine by me. will be staying at Green Valley campground in October.

We saw that entrance on the way up the mountains to KQ Ranch. We were wondering about that park. Thanks for the heads up. We will be leaving later today, kid goes back to school tomorrow.
