We was just there last fall stayed at Fishing Bridge with 32' fh. had to unhook the camper from the truck but had space beside the camper. had full hookup some sights are a little better than others. some have better shade than others etc. There are other camp grounds that are nice to.
then we went down to Tetons and stayed at Flag ranch camp grounds on the north end just a hour or so south of yellow stone.

we camped at Madison and Grant Village with our Roo 23SS and Avalanche truck and had NO problems finding campsites.
Madison had quite a few pull-thru sites that were very long. a number of big RV's were camped in those sites.
same thing with Grant.

we found that many sites could accommodate bigger setups.

We stayed at Fishing Bridge last May. Pull a 31' Windjammer with a Tundra. No problem. What is "soft side rule?"

Camping at Yellowstone

We were at Signal Mountain CG in Tetons in June. Our trailer is a total of 30'. There wasn't a problem. We had to parallel park our TV in front of trailer. The CG guy said that they were set up for 31'. Some of the sites looked a little tight for that, but others were fine.

Thanks everyone for the info and insight. The reservation page does say the max length in all CG except Fishing Bridge is 40 feet including both TV and trailer. I guess I will just be honest with them when I make the reservation so they assign me an appropriate site.

Here is the info from Xterrra. Read the text and look at the picture which shows a rig much longer than 40 ft. Makes no sense to me.

If you want full hook-ups; Fishing Bridge, Yellowstone (only one with full hook-ups in the park) and Colter Bay RV Park, Tetons. Don't wait to long to make reservations though.

I stayed at Grant in 2000 and for most sites you get a wide spot in the road and have to jump the rail to get to the fire ring. It was close to the camp store.

Follow up

So I made my reservations and was told that the only place they had available as Madison even though the web site shows availability in both Grant and Bridge Bay for 40 ft units. I am 40 ft 2 inches and they will not assign me a 40 ft spot. Luckily I am traveling with my kids who are tenting it so I can park my truck in their space and they can park their mini van in. Mine to keep total length below 40 ft. This is ridiculous and I am sure not the way things are supposed to work. All this because I am 2 inches too long. Has anyone else seen this kind of logic at work.

We just made reservations for Memorial Day week and the size limit includes the tow vehicle. Most of the the reservation campgrounds will be able to help. They book fast!! Good luck
