I'm glad to hear some parks are re-opening.

We just came back from trip to DesMoine , had a week reservation at COE at Saylorville Lake . Checked in on Sun, beautiful site over looking the lake with great sunsets, on Tues sign posted, all campers had to leave on Wed. due to government shutdown. Found a wonderful county park on the other side of the lake, Jester Co. Park. Stayed there until Mon. Then found another county park in Pella an hour away. Both were great parks, many acres, Jester even had Bison to see. We were so thankful we found them, a fellow camper told us about Jester. Thanks for your help if you see this.

Now in my opinion the states paying to reopen parks should also be the ones collecting the revenue from those reopening not the fed government. They are shut down so they cannot collect payment. Correct?

Nor is it directly applicable to your ability to camp at these parks. There are other places on the net that you're welcome to discuss policy issues- but FRF isn't it.
As the great policeman from South Park says, "Nothing to see here, please move along."

FRF moderators are trying VERY HARD to keep this thread open.
The normally strict rules are even more closely monitored in this thread.
We're all mad.
We get that.
This thread has 1 rule:
This thread is to discuss the fluid and changing status of parks that
are open and those that aren't. PERIOD
If you have information about a park that has opened or will open or
one that is not going to open, post it.
If you have an opinion on who should pay or where the money should
come from to make this happen-- KEEP IT TO YOURSELF.
Every time we allow the politics of this issue to come in- the thread
immediately gets heated and we have to close it.
Please help us keep this thread open by closely following rule 1.
Thanks!

One other warning to the forum.
Moderators are volunteers trying to do a thankless job.
They make decisions based on their understanding of the forum rules.
(I suggest everyone read them again).
One of those rules is that moderator actions are NOT up for public discussion. PM an admin to look into it (or contact the help desk) if you have heartburn with a moderator decision or action.
Taking your case to the "court of public opinion" will get you banned.

Does anyone know of a list of parks that have been re-opened?
Maybe a separate thread just to post names of parks that have been reopened would be easier to moderate? Just an idea...
Oh, and thanks and sorry to all the moderators from a habitual offender.
