Northern Texas, southern to mid NM

We are looking for a quiet, pretty spot(s) to camp in late May/early June. We live in the Houston Texas area so want to stay in about an 800 mile range so we don't spend half of our 2.5 weeks available traveling. We have a 32.5 Columbus fifth wheel. We like to do some moderate hiking and enjoy different landscapes. We are not fans of tight camp sites unless it is for a one not night stay to see something awesome on our way. And of course cooler than Houston in June.

You might consider Palo Duro Canyon SP. We stayed there over a spring break week last year and really enjoyed it. The hiking is fantastic.

There is another recent post on just this.

Around Las Cruces and Deming NM there are some real nice spots. State Parks as well as in town spots. Click New Mexico below....
