Ocean Front

Hey all!
My wife and I are planning some extended weekend trips and thought a few days at an ocean front RV park would be fun. As we checked out park ratings on line it appeared that either the ratings were on the low side or the park was not really that close to the ocean. We would like to open up the windows and hear the waves crash.
Any good places in California between Santa Barbara to the Oregon border?

Sea Cliff State Beach, in Aptos is 30yrds off the water. There is only a walkway and short fence between camper and beach. This place is very popular and we have never been able to make reservations for full hookups. The park has about 20(not publicized) dry camping spots that go by lottery daily at 12. Or if reserved sites are canceled they lottery too. We go several times a year, maybe 12 total and have only once not gotten in.I always go on Thursday to be sure an get in by Friday night its always full. The dry camping spots are small-ish with no fire pit(bring your own), the full hookup spots have a small grass island between spots.

Pismo Beach you can drive your camper on the beach and park. We are going down for the first time in a couple weeks so we’ll see.

Pismo State Beach allows you to dry camp right on the beach. If you don't mind sand in everything and noisy ATV's, four wheelers, etc..

Carpinteria SB, just south of Santa Barbara, has beach front campsites.
Refugio SB, north of Santa Barbara has some beach front sites.
Westport RV campground, north of Fort Bragg has beach camping. a friend of mine recently bought it and has made big improvements and better customer service there. it had a bad rep for a long time.

We may need to give Westport RV a visit. It is the quickest and easiest for us to travel to but I hope they don't have the ATV noise issues since I never thought of that.
Camping on the beach just sounds so relaxing.
