Quartzite advice

My wife and I are planning a trip to quartzite for the rv gathering in late January. I wondered if any who have been there have advice for where to camp in the BLM areas and when to arrive. Any experience would be greatly appreciated. Also if you're planning on going chime in so we can meet up. Cheers.

Okay folks. Christmas is over. Now let's hear some chatter about southwest Arizona and quartzite! Who's going? Where will you camp or boondock. Have you been before? What impressed (or sickened) you? Oh, and Happy New Year.

Moderator note- I moved your posts to the Western US on the road forum where it might get more traffic.
Also suggest using the little search box at the top of the page for quartzite.
There are several previous discussions.

We're heading to southern AZ also but staying in CGs rather than boondocking!

Happy Trails!

Quartzite advice

I've been out there three different years. Never had reservations. Will be hard to find a campground during the RV show. But I have always been able to find one then also. Sometimes for one night here then one night someplace else. But always stayed in a park.

I think the best park is Quail Run on 95 north end of town. Was never able to get a spot there during the show.

No lack of space if you are willing to stay in the desert.

We spent last Monday night there. Spent the night in the desert just east of town. All the campgrounds were pretty empty. Did stop at one of the RV dealers , as my BILL wanted to see a Jayco they had. The dealer said slow now,but would be packed by the time we come back through in a couple of weeks.

I'm staying in Phoenix Metro RV Park this week, I'll be heading over to Q next week. I plan on boondocking somewhere on BLM.

1st timers

Yeah, we'll be headed down there about the 21st. We have a spot at Shady Lane and were lucky to get it. Meeting up with a couple of our Vet buddies that we RV with. Looking forward to checking it out.

So excited, Quartzsite is just one week away. Can't decide whether to stay at Scaddan Wash or Dome Rock. The rest of our group backed out, except one, so we will just have 2 campers going. Any preferences??? We're coming from Phoenix.

Just got home from the 4 days of Quartzsite. Very nice, but next year will for sure go the RV show weekend, much more going on. the highlight was driving up to Desert Bar in Parker on Sunday!! What a perfect day!! We had some amazing sunsets, and great moons.

We're parked at la Posa on the east side of #95 up near the fence in our Solera. Are there any other FR folks coming to the RV event this week? Love to hang out... There are a ton of Winnebago navion and views just across the wash from us. Eric
