Rain, rain go away!

Every year in September we take a 10 to 12 day RV trip. We are both retired now, so we planned a 19 day trip to Oregon.

Well, we've been out 12 days and it has rained at least 8 of those days, several of them for 24 hours straight. We were supposed to go North to Honeyman State park near Florence OR today, but this huge Northwest storm has us hunkered down at Bandon OR.

We are going to head inland and South tomorrow with hopes of getting to a dryer climate.

For this desert rat, this has been more rain than I will see at home in the next 2 to 3 years!

It has been raining here for four hours here today and last week was real wet.

So much for living in the 'desert" of SW Idaho...

Send it down here to Louisiana!

According to the weather-in-motion map we're supposed to be getting a toad choker. Nyet, just light misting rain.

DH is happy though, he's playing the second day of a golf tournament. And Fred the wonder dog is happy cuz he can still chase squirrels and he's traumatized by lightning and thunder.

So dry here we've been under a burn ban. We're experiencing an early fall due to the drought and leaves are piling up! We've got huge oaks all around our house, at least 50 years old...probably 70 years. The shade cuts down on the power bill but lordy lordy the leaf raking and burning is a chore!

Things are still green here no leaves to rake yet and the grapes are almost ready.

Little after 8:00a here and it is still raining.

I should go out and look for leaks but I do not want to put the slides out in the rain.

Eight days out of 13? That's pretty good! LOL
We did a project on the marginal wharf at Subase Bangor. Sunshine for five months! We left the site and it rained for twenty days straight!
The Navy construction office actually called us in California and asked if we would come back.
