It wasn't me. I worked yesterday and besides, I live on the east coast of Canada. Must be someone else.

Must have been somebody else

Hey Brit, thought I would let you know it wasn't me either all tho it was raining here.

I was napping about the time you passed I guess. Next time blow your horn or have your naviguesser roll the window down & wave.

By the way why we are talking on the subject ??

Look under your large bump-out at the rear, there is a "DUST CUP" over the large piston the ele motor drives the bump out. The dust cup has a large nut on it that adjust the distance the bump-out travels in and out.
Does your dust cup have a "jam" nut against the large nut on the dust cup? I had been noticing the rear of the bump-out did not close as far in as the front at the gasket surface, about 1/2". The dust cover act as a "STOP" for the piston, but is loose as a goose when the bump-out is open.
Not tight at all, can be turned by hand. This determines how far the room travels at the rear in and out. It should have a "jam" nut or a "CLIP" pin in a hole to prevent the cup from moving.

And on you question about the 5ver passing going the other way, after I thought about it, couldn't have been me, I'm pretty sure now

Hey Sid it couldn't have been you!.... this guy was hauling with his slide "in"

I checked under my slide, mine must be different to yours, no rubber things. At the rear I just have the toothed gear horizontal bar and on the outside end of that there is an adjustment flange and various adjustments for vertical position, all tight with self locking nylock type nuts. At the front end I have the same but also with a piston attached, the piston has a metal cap and the threaded bar comes thru it, it has a locknut on it against the cap and then two more locknuts where it connects to the adjuster flange.

Nothing should be loose down there for sure, better get it checked out or you will be driving with the slide out

Bump-out ajustment

Brit, yours is just like mine except your piston is in the front. The dust cup for some reason was not locked down with the lock nut. It is locked down now, GRRRRRRRR with a big wrench!
