Thumbs up RV Park Locator and Review Site

Hi, I see a lot of people asking for information on RV sites so I thought I would post this web-site. It has a very good RV Park finder with reviews by actual RVers that stayed there. It has the RV Park web site/maps/etc.

Reviews of RV Parks and Campgrounds - RV Park Reviews

Enjoy, Dave

Yep, and it's now owned by the same folks who run this site- Social Knowledge.

That site is great, been using it for a while myself. It has kept me from going to a few places and in fact made me change my mind about one location, called and canceled my reservation.
Although some reviewers are just plain and simple 'nit picky' if you read all the comments you can get pretty good feeling about a place

it's easy to use and has had every place I have looked for listed.

I have used this site for quite a while. It's my "go to" before deciding where to stay.

I ran across this site a few weeks ago and like it too. I reached out to them about mobile apps. They responded that they will have mobile apps available in the spring. Now that will be the ticket. Their site is already a good site.

For a really good app for your mobile phone try rv parky, a free app from your app store. It's really good also, and actually has a great map. The only thing I have found wrong with it is that the distance it gives to the cg from your current location is as the crow flies, and my mh does not fly!

Just found this app this past weekend and it's pretty darned good for a freebie and seems very user friendly. So far, I give it

Just wondered how often the reviews are updated. I sent a review a week ago and still don't see it. Looks like most are older...just sayin'

The app we are really fond of is Allstays Camp & RV. It has a TON of information - everything from campgrounds to low clearance bridges to Overnight WalMarts, rest stops and dump stations! Plus, it's updated frequently

Believe we paid $9.99 for the app and it is universal so it works on both the iPhone & iPad!

I have seen some on there for March 2014, but never paid attention that much, I also have never done a review, let us know if yours ever comes up or maybe they didn't like all the 4 letter words you used.

By the way which park did you review, on the Home page they have the most recently reviewed and there are some dated March 26, 2014.

How many reviews have you submitted? You must submit 3 reviews before the first two will be posted. I believe this is done to help prevent campground owners from submitting an outstanding review of their own park.

Then, that's why. I submitted 1 review for Dennis Point in Maryland. I guess I'll do a few more.... Thanks for the heads up.

RV Park Locator and Review Site

Normally reviews on campgroundreviews.com are posted within two to three days, maybe slightly longer in the height of summer. I've been using it as my default review site for several years now and have generally been impressed by the accuracy and quality of the reviews. Read several reviews to get a better feel of the place. If the bulk of the reviews are in the high # and then a sudden low number, I'll take and close look to see what the low review was about. More often it is something specific to that reviewer. Equally, if all the reviews are in the low numbers and then, suddenly out of the blue comes a score of 9 or 10, it may have something to do with the park/campground owner or one of his buddies trying to improve the look of the place. Also take a good look how old some reviews are. It is possible that since the original reviews, management has changed and those reviews may no longer be relevant. Be careful of the rates quoted. Some people take these as gospel and then give a bad review because the rate was different to that stated in the RVParkreview. Fluctuations in rates happen for a variety of reasons so it's always best to then view the campground/parks owns web page for a more up-to-date guide to the costs.
Then, a cross check with something like trip advisor can also be useful and have the possibility of more user photos rather than the staged brochure photos of the resort website. Finally, a satellite view using Google maps (other satellite imaging sites are available) gives me a good idea how near or far I am from things like railroad, highways and airports, etc.
I've also been known to search on Facebook, again you get a better chance of finding 'honest' photos.
