Sante Fe and Taos Campgrounds

We will be doing a road trip from the Napa Valley to Santa Fe, Taos, Monument Valley, Zion, and a few other places we missed on our last trip to Utah and Arizona. This would be in May of 2020. Would love some recommendations for campgrounds near Santa Fe and Taos. We have a 24ft Sunseeker motorhome. We prefer state and national park campgrounds for their natural beauty and can survive 4-5 days without hookups. But I have read good things about Santa Fe Skies RV Resort so would consider something like that as we don't want to be too far from town. We do not have a toad and use our bikes to get around if we are near a town. Have also rented cars (as we did recently in Jasper National Park). So looking for campground recommendations, advice on whether we should rent a car for Santa Fe, and advice on how many days we should stay in the area...would consider up to 5 nights. Our interests are hiking, history, photography, and enjoying natural beauty. Any advice on Santa Fe and Taos is very welcome. Thanks!

In Santa Fe we used the Trailer Ranch Park, a commercial campground but right in town so using your bikes would be easy or even using the public transportation as the bus stops right at the entrance.

Taos we used Taos Valley RV Park, right on the edge of town but you could bike to where you wanted. There are a lot of NPS spots scattered around the area but nothing close to town, I believe Enterprise has a location there for a rental car. My son who lives in Taos said they have maybe one Uber driver at last check.
