I wouldn't take a motorhome to Yellowstone without a toad.

I completely agree about Mammoth Hot Springs. During our first visit back in 2004 it was really impressive, last year I was sorry I wasted my driving through all the road construction to see it. It's nothing compared to what it used to be.

Thanks for all your input. Great pictures Oakman . We hadn't thought about visiting Grand Tetons but will now look into that.
Nigles, what does that icon "ARG thread hijacked" mean?
We are really looking forward to getting away on our holiday. The summer here has not been good weather wise and we are trying to get our haying done. Had a thunder shower earlier this evening on about 12 acres that we would have baled tomorrow
Come on September!!!

Yes, if you have the time, by all means visit Grand Teton NP. The Grand Tetons are just a few miles south of Yellowstone. The mountain vistas are spectacular.

Be sure to take your time and enjoy the scenery. I saw too many people in a big hurry and one morning we had to wait 30 minutes in traffic because someone hit a buffalo and the maintenance workers were using a backhoe to load the bufflao in the back of a dump truck. The auto had already been removed.

When I go back I will be staying at Grizzly. It is a great park.
We did spend a few days in Jackson Hole in the Grand Teatons but unless you are a hiker you can see them in 1 day. They are a short drive from Grizzly.
You could drive the Motorhome but some of the roads are a bit tight.

I'm sure you already know this, but just a reminder that September 5th (Labor Day) is a big holiday in the U.S. so plan your trip accordingly. Campgrounds can get quite full on Labor Day weekend.
