Truck towing 5th wheel collapse in Tucson

This morning (Oct 29) just east of Tucson, on I-10, I saw a pickup towing a 5th wheeler collapse in a driving lane. The truck frame completely collapsed just behind tne truck cab, mashed all the way to the roadbed. It was west bound, I was east bound when l drove past it. It was so quick I could not snap a photo. I'm hoping someone from the Tucson area can post a news photo or something. I couldn't tell if the collapse was secondary to another crash or the result of a grossly over-loaded tow vehicle. Inquiring minds would like to know.

I don't know, I'm hoping someone local can fill in some details. I was in traffic, towing, and going the opposite direction. I just saw it as I zipped past.

Arizona trucks don't rust.

See alot of older Chevys with bowed frames, bed is against the cab. Weak C-channel frames that rust quick.

I don't know. I'm hoping someone got a picture or news article. I've found nothing.

The older Chevy problem is the rear cab mounts rusting out and dropping the cab. The frames are pretty stout, the cab corners and rocker panels not so much.
