I wanted to start a thread on weekend trips from the Boise area (100 miles or less).
So far we have done:
Vale, OR - Lots of Oregon Trail sites, history, and murals.
Homedale, ID - Snake River RV Resort right on the river.
Donnely and McCall - Nice little resort towns.
Just back from our first outing with our new 295rst Crusader. We stayed two nights in Glenn's Ferry ID at the Carmella RV park. It is directly across the road from the winery and they even have a 9 hole golf course. It was great and only $25/night with full hookups. Three Island Crossing State Park is lees than a mile down the road.
Just back from Bruno Sand Dunes. They have a great observatory and program for the kids. Tons of sand for playing in and even hills to sled down. Lots of wind!
One of my favorites is the South Fork of the Boise River at Anderson Ranch Dam. It is 'dry' camping...and no reservable spots-first come, first served...but it is beautiful and relaxing! We've never had trouble finding a spot.
We are headed to Farewell Bend Park in Oregon in a few weeks. 75 miles from Boise (Huntington,OR). I will let you know how that goes!

we have been all over southern Id in the last few years in pups and we find Ponderosa, Three Island crossing, Hells Canyon Bruneau Featherville as well as above Id City. All great spots. We spend at least a week in Stanley every year as well. Cascade and McCall have great spots also. We visit Snake river Resort at least twice a season also ( but we call it spiderville). Have fun
