We're actually up in Livingston, at Osens RV Park.
Tried to find parks closer to Yellowstone but all were booked solid for the days we needed and for 2 spots.
But, it's only a 30 minute run to the North Entrance, so we're happy.
From here our next stop is Glacier for 4 days, reservations made.

Well, Yellowstone was a big disappointment. Not from the scenic point of view, but from the boneheads that we're driving thru. Yes, delays to get into the park, but that was expected. Delays several miles into the park, North entrance due to road construction. Was aware of it, but saddened as it took almost an hour to get thru.
It was the boneheads that would stop in the roadway and take pic's of a buffalo that was 300 yards away with it's arse toward them. Whole family would get out and gawk and take pic's, while 20 vehicles were being held up. Looked more like a big ant at that distance.
Numerous times on the upper loop vehicles just stopped in the middle of the road to stare, take pic's, ect. instead of using the pulloffs.
Also, one of the most commercialised parks I've ever been in. Huge shopping stores. I've seen smaller malls.
In Missoula now, heading to Glacier for 4 days. Hope it will be a little better.

Grumpy my man....

People go to Yellowstone to see the very things they were taking pictures of... Yes - it's also common for them to stop and maybe block traffic but try to keep this in mind - for most of these people this is the "trip of a lifetime" for them.... Try not to begrudge them their excitement and their joy of seeing wildlife they've only seen pictures of....

We've been to Yellowstone 8 times and it NEVER fails to blow us away.... What a beautiful place.... I agree that there are areas that are very commercialized but in actuality its a small percentage of the total park... I ALWAYS try to remember that I'm ON VACATION and I'm not really in that big of a hurry....

Sorry, don't buy it. Maybe I'm being a hard arse, but we werent't in any hurry, and it was one of our trips. Right now in week 6 of 3 months on the road across USA from Va. To Canada, Alaska, back across Canada via trans Canada hwy.
Have been to 5 other parks on our trip and Yellowstone was by far the worst.
Heck, we live 15 minutes from the entrance to the most visited park and roadway in the country, Smokey Mtn Park, Blue Ridge Pky, Skyline Drive. Have never seen as many inconsiderate people as we did in one day at Yellowstone. Yes, views and scenery were spectactular, and would do it again, but only when school is in session and many less visitors, Sept or Oct.

x2 on your impression of Yellowstone. Great views and impressive scenery but very rude visitors. We camped at Fishing bridge, our county dump is a better experience. We did VA to Alaska and back in 2016, our trip was 16000 miles. Good luck and enjoy every mile.

We stayed at Fishing Bridge once and that was more than enough for us.... We love Bay Bridge CG in the park as well as Grizzly Resort in West Yellowstone....

Well Iggy, we haven't forgotten your question as OP. Lol No, I'm not there, but I also wish that I was. Great staging area to see the Park! Get out and fly fish.
