winters in Mesa Arizona

We have spent the last 4 winters in Florida. We thought this year we would like to spend the winter near mesa Arizona . when I looked at the average night time temperature for Dec. ,Jan. , Feb the average was in the mid 30's. This is getting cold to stay in our 5th wheel . I hope someone would tell me about your experience in the Mesa area. Also do you have a favorite campground ?
Thanks Steve

Hey Steve. I actually live in Mesa and the weather is a prime reason, especially in the winter. Light jackets during the day and light blankets at night are the norm. I am not sure what your RV can manage for, but I don't think Mesa in the winter would disappoint. In fact, if you were to look for a spot to park in Mesa or adjoining Apache Junction you may find that all of the parks are filling up or already reserved for next winter. And, there are a lot of them. You might also think about sticking around March/April for Cactus league Baseball (same same as Citrus league, different teams like cubs, dodgers, Angels), another big draw for our visitors. In any event, you would be welcome and, if you choose to come I hope you enjoy.

Low to mid 40's during that time period. Not sure where you got mid 30's from.

Winter in AZ

As someone who lives in AZ during the winter, I can tell you that there is a definite possibility of temperatures reaching the 30s at night during Dec, Jan and Feb. Two winters ago we had four nights in a row below freezing. However, that is not the norm. Nighttime temperatures are usually cooler if you are out in the desert vs in the city. Get an electric blanket for your bed and you will be fine.

Red face winters in mesa

I live in Queen Creek (next door to Mesa) and it does get to mid 30's. I have had plants, and things die from freezing. Not last winter, but the one before lost a lot of bougainvillea and other shrubs as well.

Spend the winter here. You will enjoy it. Also the baseball mentioned above if your a fan.

OP said average was mid 30's. It is not. Could be in the high 20's or high 50's. Average is in the 40's.

Ah! Thanks for the education. Couldn't find that one on my abbreviations list.

It's still cold here in the winter sometimes.
