I gotta plead guilty. Not at Yosemite, but in Smoky Mountain National Park. Baby bear kept trying to climb trees, momma would smack him out of them. Finally, baby bear made it up a tree, and Momma just sat down for a breather, i guess knowing the kid would have to come down eventually.
Momma bear was just cold-chilling and I got some great pictures. At some point a jeep with a dog barking came thru, and that really perked Momma-bear up. She then took a hard, steady look at me, and I figured it was time to go.
However, I was adamant about my safety. I looked at the guy standing next to me taking pictures. About 75, braces on both knees and a cane. I figured I could outrun him easy...

I'm guilty too. Took my bear shots in Cades Cove, momma in the tree taking a snooze with the cubs. Meanwhile the DW is freakin' out. I learned later that bears can actually run up to 35 mph.....
