Yosemite Nat Park question.

Doing a little planning for next year and was wondering if I would have any problems pulling a 34 ft. travel trailer with an F250 diesel thru Yosemite natl park on Highway 120. I appreciate your time.

When you say "through the park", do you mean coming in through El Portal and exiting over Tioga Pass headed towards Mono Lakes?? Best bet is to look at this link for what you can and cannot do with total lengths: https://www.nps.gov/yose/planyourvisit/restrictions.htm

BTW - if you are going over Tioga pass, there is a long downgrade heading towards HWY 395. Hopefully you have Tow / Haul option or exhaust brake as you can get going pretty good and really test the brakes on your truck.

Originally I was thinking just entering at Priest and exiting Lee
Vining but looking closer we may want to take a few days and stay in Yosemite valley. Looks too nice just to pass thru. We have a 34' TT, will these campgrounds accommodate a 34 footer??? I know, I know check the website.

Be sure to NOT go Old Priest grade. Go up the new one. There are lots of warning signs to help you go up or down the new one.

No no. There are two roads up Priest Grade. The old road is very steep with some very tight turns that do not accommodate lengthy vehicles. There is a new road that is a lot longer but less steep without the tight turns. It is illegal for RV's and trucks to use the old road.

Both roads start and end at the same place. Just one is very steep with lots of tight turns and the other is a lot longer but not as steep and curves are not as tight.

That is one scary downhill road to Mono! Last time I drove that there was a distinct lack of guard rails. However it provided a great view of the 1000 ft plus drop.

Don't just pass through Yosemite! You could spend at least a few days and still wsnt to stay longer.

Not sure when you plan to be there, but Tioga Pass was still closed a few days ago due to snow.

Not till next summer. Good to know though that the pass is still closed this late.
