Noticed today while taking my rig out to get gas that I have both front brakes beginning to squeal when coming to a stop. As stated in the subject line I have 1649 miles. Put on about 25 miles today and noticed that it didn't go away either.
I know my dealer won't work on these kind of things as they would take to Ford. So the question I have is have it checked out or let it go for a while longer to see if it goes away.
I know in cars this can happen and sometimes it took replacing the pads and turning the rotors - not sure if it is the same principle on these large rigs.
A little trick I used once in my car might work for you..........
You have almost NO miles on your rig. Take it for a little drive where the traffic is almost non-existent. At no more then 25-30 MPH, just lightly drag the brake pedal with your left foot while maintaining speed. I would do this for 1/4 mile maximum at a time so as to not build up too much rotor heat. Then drive normal for next 1/4 mile, and repeat for a couple of miles.
Test you braking again to see if squeal is better or worse. Could be a mild case of glazing on the surface of the pads and the rotors.

I suspect two things, either your caliper pins or the backing plates for your pads need brake grease. If not those, kenandterry might be correct about the pads needing to be de-glazed.

Very interesting and I agree sometimes you need to wear pads in and kenandterry good suggestion. Not to highjack this thread, but I have a 2015 Georgetown 351DS with less than 13,000 miles on odometer, just got home from week long 2000 mile adventure. My brakes are squeaking. I also noticed while running alongside a barrier wall that they squeak when I turn to the right, i.e. when I put load on the left when I swerve right. No squeal swerving to the left though. I am wondering what the problem is. I know brake sqeals don't necessarily mean you need brakes, Sometimes just a glaze that builds up builds up that will go away. I cannot believe I would need new pads at only 13,000 but then I have no idea what the typical life of pads are for an RV. Wondering if anyone else might provide a little direction on these problems.
