Exclamation 2008 Georgetown Motor home coach batteries

Hi

Could someone help us?

Our coach batteries have been replaced 2 months ago, water level is up, but they are not charging when driving and now we are stuck because our slide will not retract.

Fuses are fine.

Thx Ken

Run the generator.....that should start charging the batteries....if that does not work and it's not a fuse or a bad wire then your charger is shot.

On our Sunseeker MH to charge the batteries while driving the battery cut off switch must be left on.

Can you plug in.....that will also charge your batteries of course....are you saying that the generator is part of the problem or has been sitting for a while and won't start?

Please clarify there is only one slide ?

If the slide is hydraulic can you hear the hydraulic pump running ?
If it is not running then check the resetable breaker that is
mounted on the chassis frame just above the Battery Control
Centre. I assume it is the same as my GT378XL - 2009

If the slide is 12VDC operated then the question is how are the
other 12VDC operated devices ? If they are operating are you connected to shore power ? Make sure the battery disconnect switch is on.

By the way how did you determine that the chassis power system
is not charging the batteries ?

What he needs to check is the main battery feed breaker it is a resettable one located usually to the upper left of the control panel in the battery compartment area. It has a red button that will trip it and a red arm will appear on the left of it. To reset you need to push the red arm back into the body of the breaker.

Here is a picture of the resettable breaker.

This breaker usually trips when the battery voltage is low and you try to use the hydraulic pump.
So if you learn anything today you need to make sure your master battery disconnect switch is on when plugged into shore power or you will not charge the batteries.
Hopefully this helps you a little.

Can you start your genny using the emergency start switch? That should allow the chassis battery to start the genny.

Until Ken provides more information, repeating the same suggestions,
will not solve the problem
