2011 F53 and F59 suspension TSB

There is a Ford TSB, issued 06/01/2012 ref the brackets and bolts for the rear sway bar. I found the TSB after Ford RV customers service told me they had no knowledge of the issue and currentlly my 2011 360XL is in shop having both brackets and bolts and bushings replaced. My Ford dealer did not even know of this. The NHTSA NUMBER IS 10045065. I would urge all with 2010 and later to check the brackets on rear sway bars.

Here is some more information which is still limited to 2011 F53 chassis.
It only mentions 2011 F53 and not F59
2011 Ford F-53 Rear Suspension Technical Service Bulletins (TSB)

I have checked mine and all is tight.

Rear Sway Bar Bolts

Just checked mine, and lo and behold, one is missing, the other almost missing. Have an appointment Tuesday to drop it off so they can "check it" They didn't seem to be aware of the problem or if it would be covered under warranty until I mentioned the TSB and then they said "oh it probably will be covered".

Fbconsults, I am sure they will cover it, It will not stop a trip, but I like having all my parts in working order. I figure that if these brackets did not serve a useful purpose, they would not have installed them. Safe travels.

Tsb

Got a call from Sunrise Ford in Fontana, CA, who has my motorhome because the rear sway bar bolts were missing and one loose. They told me the parts are on order and should be at the dealership today or tomorrow, get my motorhome back tomorrow afternoon or Friday.

I recommend everyone take a quick look at theirs and keep a check on them.

Thought I would bump this back to the top.

Had ours checked during the transmission recall.

Sure enough ALL swaybar bolts were loose.

Ford Recalling 13,239 F-59 and F-53 Stripped Chassis Vehicles
February 15, 2012

WASHINGTON – Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 13,200 2011 model-year F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis vehicles manufactured from Feb. 1, 2010 through July 1, 2011 as well as 2012 model-year F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis vehicles manufactured from May 10, 2011 through Oct. 25, 2011.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the PRNDL cable may break at the attachment to the transmission control selector arm assembly mounted on the steering column. If the cable breaks, the transmission gear indicator in the PRNDL display in the instrument panel will remain in the first gear position regardless of the gear selected. As a result, the driver may be prevented from knowing whether the vehicle is actually in park or reverse. This poses a safety risk.

Ford will notify vehicle owners of the recall, and dealers will replace the transmission selector arm assembly and the PRNDL cable assembly. There will be no charge for this service. The safety recall is expected to begin the first week of March.

Vehicles owners can reach Ford at (866) 436-7332.

Just wanted to tell everyone that I found the rear swaybar bracket loose today. Passengers side rear clamp that has 2 bolts holding to axle. Drivers side rear was tight. I also checked the front and all was ok there.

I put some locktite liquid on them before retightening.
