2011 Georgetown 374ts House Battery Recommendations

Greetings all. I left the couch plugged in all winter this year and did not shut the house batteries off or throw my disconnect. My teens were using the couch in the driveway almost every weekend for overnights with friends. Needless to say....Batteries are shot. I don't know why I didn't even consider them? Lazy hibernation.

I need to replace them. Any recomendations for a straight swap out with a better battery, maybe something maitenance free would be nice. I just want to make sure what I get fits in my battery tray.

Also? The steps are acting funny. Take a long time to open and close when the door is open or shut, even with the motor running. I'm thinking it's just a power issue, low voltage issue due to the batteries?

Thanks

Don't forget they are deep cycle not start batteries!

Batteries can be had in the same as original case size probably a 24 or 27. Take and record the h x w x d and compare to suppliers offerings. You can certainly get open caps or maintenance free batteries in either size. With shore power or engine running you have 13.5 volts to the steps. Mine needed repeated lubrication to get them working free and fast in both directions.

I replaced the oem 12V with 6v golf cart batteries. If you DIY, Costco has them for about $85.00. Just remember to hook them up in series, not parallel as in the oem mode. If you have a local battery shop, for a little extra they will install them for you if you don't feel comfortable DIY. The 6v batteries will provide considerably more power than 2 12v.

My 2007 georgetown 373 was about a year or two old
and the stock 2, 12 volt batteries had a couple of dead cells.
I replaced then with 2, 6 volt trojan batteries
I forgot what i paid for them but they work real good
and i'm very happy with them.....so far, knock-on-wood

When we got our rig in 2010, at 8 years old from the original owners, it had one very tired battery in the house circuit that wouldn't hold a charge for more than about 6 hours with nothing switched on.

The battery tray had room for two batteries, so I headed to Costco and got two of their deep-cysle RV/Marine 12-volt batts. IIRC they were maybe $64.99 each. Still going strong, coming up on our third season. NADA was my source for the battery inter-connect wiring to get the two of them wired in parallel.

We don't boondock, so the high capacity golf-cart batteries aren't necessary for us.
